I Prayed have prayed
Lord God, thank you for this godly man adding action to his prayers for the nation. Bless him as he obeys Your call to run for Congress.
Reading Time: 5 minutes

David Kubal, IFA President/CEO: We are so excited to interview Sean Feucht. He joined Bethel Music Collection in 2016. He’s a worship leader with Bethel Church. But even before that, he mobilized prayer across the globe through Burn 24/7. And if you’re part of IFA, you certainly know about Burn 24/7. He’s recorded fifteen albums, and authored numerous books, teaching resources.

Why would an artist like yourself run for public office?

Sean Feucht: Well, I asked myself that same question again this morning. First of all, I really feel the call of the Lord on this. I think that’s number one. And I’m just trying to be obedient to the voice of the Lord and follow him, just like we have in other major decisions in our life. But I have a lot of motivators. I think one of the big ones is just my concern about the way America’s going. And, you know, when I look at my four little kids.

I helped get them ready for school this morning. And I look in their eyes and legitimately wonder what America is going to look like when they grow up. It certainly runs deep in me.

Dave Kubal: Soone of the things that has concerned other conservative politicians and legislators is something I think probably concerns you, too. You live in California. So if anybody sees this, it’s people in California–an increasing amount of control of government over individual lives. Is that something you are concerned about?

Sean Feucht: Oh, a hundred percent. It’s government control and in ways that we have never even seen in our life. And it’s just increasing in everything from the mandated vaccinations to [restrictions and requirements affecting] my own property, fifteen acres in California.

Dave Kubal: So have you seen that increase even in the last five, 10 years?

Sean Feucht: Have I seen it? Yes.

We’re kind of making government our God in these places and expecting them to do everything.

And I just don’t think that was the way America was founded. I don’t think that was the vision for the founding fathers. And I don’t think it’s what’s made us to be the most successful nation in the history, the world, relinquishing control to the government.

Dave Kubal: And so here you are, an artist that feels called to run for congressional office. You’re all about revival. And you said in a recent article that this call to government and to serve in government is connected to your concept of revival. What is your concept of revival? A lot of people are going to have a hard time getting their heads around the concept that revival and government go together somehow.

Sean Feucht: I’ve been in the ministry world, I have three nonprofits, I’ve been leading worship and prayer rallies and rising missions, worship, prayer all over the place. And I love it. And we still continue to do that.

At some point, it has to shift from holding a conference or holding revival meeting, which are great. And we actually have to act on the solution.

We have to become essentially the fulfillment of our prayers. There’s entire realms of society that have been abdicated because believers have not engaged. And I think the political world is one. We’ve abdicated our presence because we don’t see a connection to our prayers and our worship and our whatever. It’s engaging. We have to actually step in and put action to our prayers and action to our word. You can’t just get on Twitter, Facebook and whine about the way the government is. We have to become the solution.

Dave Kubal: Absolutely. You even said in one of your articles recently that your prayers don’t carry a lot of weight unless you put action to them.

Sean Feucht: I can reference several [turning] points in my life [on this]. I remember when we were praying after the first beheading video of ISIS (they beheaded the journalist James Foley). It sent shock waves of intimidation and discouragement and whatever across the world. And we were in a prayer meeting praying. And the Lord was like, are you going to do something about it? And I raised up a team. We were one of the only organizations I know of that sent a team during the height of ISIS into Iraq. They’re still there on the ground there now. The Lord’s really blessed our ministry there. And we’ve seen a lot of favor happen. So I think in the same way and apply that principle to government and the way that America’s going. And I just feel like I’m in another season of responding in that same way.

Dave Kubal: So speaking of Iraq, I heard this interesting story of how you were used as an offensive weapon in Iraq. Do you want to tell that story?

Sean Feucht: During our engagement there we really connected very closely with the Kurdish Peshmerga, the main guys on the ground that were fighting ISIS. The Lord gave us a bunch of amazing connections to generals and leaders there. And one of the things they requested is that we would come in and bring our guitars. They like healing music or peace music. And we would we would come and we would worship. We would pray for them and we would do ministry in the middle of that conflict. And a lot of times, if they wanted to do an invasion over a specific area, we would come the night before. And I’ve even taken trips to the exact bunkers in the exact places that overlook where the battles were. And we could do our thing. We worshipped just like we would in a prayer room in America. And God would bring about some amazing, amazing victories.

Dave Kubal: So like the walls of Jericho, huh? Led by praise and worship. That’s cool.

Here at Intercessors for America, we pray for political leaders who share our values. And you are definitely one of them. So California’s got an interesting political system. Describe that so that we know how we could pray for you in the months to come.

Sean Feucht: A jungle primary is a system that they do. I think it’s predominantly on the West Coast. I feel like a big reason they do the jungle primary is to get rid of conservative candidates. But it’s basically where the top vote getters, no matter what party you’re from, the top two vote getters move on. So it could be two Democrats, which happens a lot when you are the top two vote getters in the general election. So this will happen in March 2020.

[There’s a few other Republican candidates and I think it’s only the incumbent Democrat in the primary. One big, massive primary.

Dave Kubal: One last question. You say that the primary calling of believers is to worship. And I totally agree with you. If you go to Washington, D.C. as the newly elected congressman from your area, how are you going to be a man of worship in the city of Washington, D.C., in the House of Representatives?

Sean Feucht: I have always loved D.C. I felt drawn there, and I’ve done many, many, worship events on the National Mall and around the city. When I was 16 years old, I helped mobilize for the Gathering, four hundred fifty thousand people on the Mall. I believe David carried that part of worship, from shepherd through when he was in the army, all the way until he became a king. He carried that same heart as a politician. I don’t think that’s something that you turn off. I think it’s something that you carry no matter what season you’re in. Regardless of whether that season looks like full time ministry or looks like being in Congress, I think I’m just going to carry it like I do normally. I think would be amazing to see worship fill the halls of Congress.

Dave Kubal: Sean, bless you. We’re going to continue to pray for you.

Sean Feucht for Congress.

Please stop being so judgemental. Man looks at the outward appearance but God looks at the heart!

First, let me make it clear, I am a born-again believer, and Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. Now that, that’s out of the way, I have some questions. I have read a lot about Bethel Church and the senior staff (Johnson’s). There are clearly some unresolved concerns, by trusted believers. Time nor space do not allow a review of all the concerns, nor is that the intent here. God calls us to discern and verify, Acts 17:11 KJV, “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the Word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so”. Therefore, I’m not blaming nor accusing, but questioning, with all sincerity as a fellow believer.
I do not know Sean Feucht. I have some questions for him personally to answer. There is not always an expected right of wrong answer, but the answers individually and collectively have relevance in today’s world. My questions are not all inclusive but suffice.
Sean,
(1) At some point in time did you audibly pray the prayer of salvation, accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior? If so, when (date)?
(2) Do you read a Bible daily and pray? If so what translation (note, this is not necessarily a right or wrong answer, but the translation most spoken of by Bethel appears to be “The Passion Translation” written solely by Brian Simmons. Recognized experts question this translation’s validity as the Word of God. Not to say this is absolutely correct, but it is concerning). The Bible clearly warns believers of false prophets, e.g., Ezekiel 13:9; Jeremiah 23:16; Luke 6:26; Matthew 24:24, 16:11-12; 2 Timothy 4:3-4; Acts 20:28-30; 2 Peter 3:14-18; 1 John 4:16, and more.
(3) What is your position on the Bible? It’s author? Is it the true Word of God?
(4) What is your position on abortion?
(5) What is your position on homosexuality? Is it a sin? (Now, realizing, the Bible says in James 4:17 KJV, Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. I personally still sin as a believer, but genuinely pray for forgiveness when convicted of sin in my life.)

Know that my sincere hope is that Sean, you are a true man of God. Because, boy, do we need it as much as ever!

His peace, comfort, wisdom and grace,
Larry

Dear Lord,

You have raised up a man who seeks to do your will in fighting for America. Sean Feucht is a mighty warrior running for congress. He is well equipped with the best tools available to win and to set America back on the path of righteousness, because whatever he does, he does in the name of Jesus. You are leading him in this calling set before him Lord. Thank you for placing Godly people, like Sean, where they are needed. Thank you Lord for seeking the hearts of men and women who follow your will and your ways and placing them in seats of authority, for you instructed us to elect people who can be trusted to do what is right in your eyes. You are the one who set up government. America was founded by Godly men Lord, so I thank you for calling Sean Feucht to congress in such a time as this.

Sean is armed with your Word that will cut through deception. He is armed with your Spirit which leads us in truth, prayer that works because he prays from the heart in line with your will, and he praises you, he worships you and he loves you. He walks in love to the best of his ability which is all you ask of us. America needs a man that will reunite church and state the way You intended it to be. Everything we do should be brought before you Lord and Sean desires to do just that. I pray the Father to anoint Sean’s decision to run for congress, and I trust you Lord to use him mightily. Thank you for empowering him, strengthening him, guiding him and for leading him and America IN VICTORY. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray. God bless you.

Father God, we come boldly before Your throne of grace at this juncture for this race in CA. Lord, place Your might hand on Sean to lead, guide and protect him. Surround him with Your mighty, powerful warring angels to protect him and his family as well as guide them during these elections. Lord, increase his influence and multiply the votes being cast for him. As Jesus multiplied the loaves and fish, Lord multiply the votes for Sean. Send a miracle wave of provision and good publicity his way. Let him rise to the top. As David defeated Goliath, let Sean defeat those who would come against him. Surround Sean with trustworthy people who can help him advance Your agenda. God, thank You for righteous people in office like Ben Carson. Praise You for former godly politicians like Trey Gowdy and Mike Huckabee. Let the holy men and women in all levels of politics band together to defeat the evil of socialism. And, Lord, bring us more men like Sean into all realms of influence in the US. Father, let the men in this country return to You, put down their phones and their pornography, and open their Bibles to bring this nation fully back to You. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen

God bless and continue to keep you and your family in the palm of His hands as you go forth and take the land and the giants before you! You can do all things through Christ who gives you strength. He has definitely motivated you to do His will. California needs men of God like you in these positions. You will surely be in my prayers.💚🙏

For years I heard Christians say politics and faith don’t mix. That is why the enemy has occupied the high powerful places in government and godly influence across this nation has waned. May the Lord bless you and guide you to follow His path.

Sean,
As you hear the calling of the Lord for you to run for congress. I pray that your light shine so bright that the Light of the Lord will spill over to other congressman/women in Jesus name. That Row vs Wade would be over turned. That the government will see the value of a human being and a precious unborn baby. I believ that 2020 will be the year of doubling and spiritual eyes are opened.
