PRAY ABOUT CRITICAL SUPREME COURT HEARINGS THIS WEEK

God, our Judge, we ask for justice in the important Supreme Court cases this week. We especially pray for wisdom for the lawyers of First Liberty. (Is 33:22)
323 People Prayed

In Bladensburg Maryland, the American Legion Veteran Organization erected the Bladensburg WWI Veterans Memorial in 1925. The memorial is referred to as the “Peace Cross,” and it honors 49 men from Bladensburg who gave their lives in WWI.

It has stood for more than 90 years. In 2014, the American Humanist Association filed a lawsuit claiming the cross-shaped memorial was unconstitutional because the public ownership and maintenance of the memorial violated the Establishment Clause in the First Amendment of the Constitution, which states, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion.”

First Liberty, a law firm that specializes in religious liberty cases, intervened in the lawsuit on behalf of The American Legion to defend the Bladensburg Memorial Cross. The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against the Memorial, and now the case is before the Supreme Court….

Kelly Shackelford, President and CEO of First Liberty said, “If this gravestone is bulldozed to the ground, it’s only a matter of time before the wrecking ball turns on Arlington National Cemetery and the hundreds of memorials like this one across the country.”

The central questions in this case: Is a 93-year-old memorial unconstitutional because it is shaped like a cross, and does the public maintenance of a cross-shaped memorial violate the Establishment Clause in the First Amendment?

Oral arguments for this case will be heard on February 27, 2019.

Listen to IFA President Dave Kubal’s interview with attorney Kelly Shackelford, who is arguing one of these important cases in the Supreme Court this week. Don’t miss his insider prayer points:

Case 2: Manhattan Community Access Corp. v. Halleck

Content platform companies should closely watch for the decision on this case, as it could substantially limit their power to control the content on their platforms. The Manhattan Neighborhood Network, located in New York City, suspended two of their employees, Melendez and Halleck, from using the network’s services or facilities after the employees incited violence against other employees. Melendez and Halleck then filed a lawsuit against Manhattan Neighborhood Network claiming the company violated their First Amendment rights to free speech.

The First Amendment does not apply to private institutions and only applies to state actors….

The central question in this case: Are private operators of public access channels state actors subject to constitutional liability?

Oral arguments for this case will be heard on February 25, 2019.

Case 3: United States v. Haymond

In 2010, Andre Ralph Haymond was convicted of possessing child pornography and sentenced to 38 months in jail and ten years of supervised release. While on supervised release probation officers found him in possession of child pornography and alleged he had violated five conditions of his supervised release. According to U.S. Law, 18 U.S.C.§ 3583(k), a mandatory minimum sentence of five years is required for possession of child pornography for anyone on supervised release from a crime involving a minor. Convicted felon Haymond appealed. He argued there was insufficient evidence to prove he had knowingly possessed the child pornography and claimed it was a violation of the Constitution to deny him due process….

The central question in this case: Did the court of appeals err in holding “unconstitutional and unenforceable” the portions of 18 U.S.C. 3583(k) that required the district court to revoke the respondent’s ten-year term of supervised release, and to impose five years of reimprisonment?

Oral arguments for this case will be heard on February 26, 2019. (Excerpts from MyFaithVotes News)

  1. We thank You Father/ You have heard the prayers of Your children and the Cross still stands!! Thank You Holy Spirit for speaking through the lawyers from First Liberty. Thank You precious Jesus for speaking to the hearts of the Supreme Court that they could truly hear Your desire. All praise and honor and glory to our Lord God in heaven who orchestrates all things seen and unseen – the cross stands!!
    Hallelujah!!

  2. and Case 3: Bring back the Judges who would throw out of court any case that was against the law or did not have enough evidence. Lord God, help those in authority to be released from daily feeling like they have to be liked or they will be persecuted. May your justice, dear Lord, flow down from your throne and bring sanity back to our courts. I especially pray for the states held captive by the Browns, CA and OR, and pray that the citizens their would be rescued from the imposed anarchy on our land. Thank you for hearing our prayers Lord, you are our hiding place. In Jesus name, Amen

  3. Our first amendment right does not give us carte blanche to wage a private war against those of another persuasion at our employment. Lord God, give the wisdom of Solomon to our Justices in rendering a verdict in line with our Constitution and let those who are employees know they must adhere to the rules of the Employers. Please bring an end to this lawlessness, dear Lord. In Jesus name, Amen

    1. Dearest Father,Almoghty God,
Thank you for bringing the Bladensburg case before the Supreme Court. Please make it clear to all the Justices that maintaining crosses on public land does not establish a religion. Please clarify for the people that the Establishment Clause was written to prevent a State Church. In Jesus’ name l pray, amen.

  4. Lord God, please protect our memorials, our past as a country helps us to know we are a long way from the republic these men bled and died for. Keep the Left from erasing our history and writing a new one, return true history to our schools and save our children from the doctrine of demons. God before First Liberty and make this crooked road straight before them. Give backbone and conviction to our Conservative Judges to interpret the Constitution correctly. Keep the Justices from being harassed in any way. Preserve our liberty and the power of the cross in our culture, Lord, for your glory and our peace. In Jesus name, Amen

  5. We thank you, Most Heavenly Father, that the curtain was rent in two and we have access to Your Throne with prayers such as these. Please anoint your believers as they defend the honor of your cross in this case. And we pray Almighty King that you will restore the love and respect for crosses in all places across our land. May your name be glorified!

  6. Holy and Eternal Father. You know the ending even before the beginning. You have brought us together for such a time as this, to stand and fight, and kneel and Pray against the demonic world that has HAD a hand in this country. He has lost because we, Your servants, are uniting together in Your Word. “We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual host of wickedness in the heavenly places.” We are taking up the whole armor of God, to withstand the evil. No More will it prevail. We ask for You, Holy Spirit to live and reign in the hearts and minds and mouths of the First Liberty lawyers – to give them clear, anointed speech, confidence of mind and spirit and that Your presence will fill the Supreme Court.
We invite You Holy Father and our Precious Jesus Christ to be in that courtroom-turn the hearts of the wicked into butter, wash Your blood over every Justce of the Supreme Court that today they see and know the Truth and that Your will, will be done and signed in Jesus blood-setting this country back on the right course, in Your direction.
We also ask You, Divine and Majestic God to mix the words of the opponent,
help them to see the error of their ways and draw them to You that they too will see the Truth.
We ask for Your Holy angels to stand guard and protect the First Liberty team, and we ask that all may come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. In the Holy and blessed name above all names, JESUS CHRIST.

  7. Dear Lord, You know the importance of words, You Who inspired the holy and living Word of the Bible and Who have given us the Holy Spirit to illuminate its meaning, bringing us from darkness to the light of Your truth.
I pray that You will bless the lawyers of First Liberty with the eloquence and piercing logic only You
can provide. “Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart” (Acts 2:37). I pray that the judges will give the words of the Constitution the utmost respect and Your intended interpretation as they ponder their decision. I pray that they vote unanimously to support the Constitution and its God-given rights for us to be free of religious coercion. I pray that you give the judges the ability to explain why and how the Constitution guarantees the religious freedoms that our forefathers died for and that the Brandenburg soldiers died for. I pray that you give us intercessors the resolve to continue praying for the judicial decision that will honor You. I ask that you protect each of us from the darts of Satan as this case proceeds. Four months of praying can seem like a long time unless we have You to keep the eternal timeframe in our mind. I praise You, Lord, for giving us the divine document that lays the foundation of our government and ask that You protect it from ignorance, disrespect, and distortion for political gain. I pray that you grant us favorable judgment and the revival in Your Name that will follow. I praise and thank You for being alive and on the move in these affairs and that You continue to uphold us as we speak up boldly for Your truth. Amen.

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12).

    1. Thank You Father for hearing all these prayers. Your Word says where 2 or 3 are gathered in Your name You are with us. There are 5 prayers here now & I agree with these prayer warriors. Hear our prayers Dear Father & deliver our country from the work of Your enemy. Amen

    1. Heavenly Father let Your will be done. Your word promises that the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church, and further more nothing or no one can over turn Your decision. I apply the blood of Jesus and claim victory in every one of these cases. Amen

  8. Gracious Heavenly Father, King of the Universe, I ask You to give Kelly Shackelford the words to say to SCOTUS and to give them ears to hear with hearts to obey Your will. That righteousness might prevail and Your Kingdom come.
Lord God, I speak Light, Life and Truth over SCOTUS. I ask You to mightily anoint your servant Atty Shackleford. I plead the blood of Jesus to cover his mind, body, soul and spirit and Your breath to fill his lungs that he brings forth Your words. Your word is powerful and goes forth to accomplish Your purpose….it never returns void.
So thank Lord for hearing and answering my prayer. Amen
