If America goes away where do the people go?

Have you ever considered what would happen if the form of government and freedoms we currently possess in America went away? Our freedoms and prosperity are the very things that make immigrants flock to our borders and make us the envy of other nations. But what if the next election went to socialism? What then?

That question was posed to former pastor and Democrat who is a frequent Fox News guest, C.L. Bryant. He replied, “If America goes away, Americans would then succumb to the fate of every other nation.”

What does that mean? First, let’s consider a 2018 report which listed the “Top 10 Most Democratic Countries in the World.” In order they were:

Norway, Iceland, Sweden, New Zealand, Denmark, Canada, Ireland, Australia, Switzerland, and Finland.

America didn’t even make the list. Since 2016, the United States has been downgraded to what is referred to as a “flawed democracy” according to the Economist.[1] If we are downgraded again, it would be to a hybrid regime with the next level being authoritarian regime.

What it really reflects is that in America we have forgotten who we are. And we have forgotten the price that was paid.

“They want you to think we are a nation of immigrants,” states Bryant. “No, we were a nation of immigrants. NOW we are Americans. It is imperative that those who come into our nation, grasp the sacrifice and blood that was shed to live in this free land,” he explained.

Have we truly forgotten that important fact? Our nation now hangs in the balance because of it.

As a former black pastor and Democrat, C.L. Bryant shares a story and warning we would do well to remember.

When he was young, his father bought him a bike. One day when it was parked in his front yard, a bully who lived around the block came into his yard, jumped on the bike and rode away with it. C.L. ran into the house to tell his dad, hoping for some help to get the bike back. His dad helped, but not in the way he expected.

“Get in the car, son,” his dad instructed. They drove past the bully’s house where he saw his bike sitting in the bully’s front yard. But they didn’t stop. Instead, his dad drove further down the block and parked.

“Now, go get it,” his dad instructed him. “Son, I worked hard to get you that bike. Now, I want you to hear me. Don’t you ever let anyone take anything that I have worked, sweated, and paid for you without a fight. Now, go get your bike.”

C.L. fought the bully and got his bike back. He also learned a lesson from his dad that we would do well to remember as well.

This nation has been bought and paid for with the blood of those who stood, fought, and gave their lives so we could have America—a land so rich in freedom that it inspires others to come.

How dare we allow anyone to take America from us without a fight. It’s easy to sit back and hope someone else will get America back. But it’s up to us—each of us—to take our stand and do our part.

It’s time we stand up to the bullies who are trying to steal our freedoms and country out from under us. It is time the patriots take our nation back.

A CALL TO ACTION:

“There was a time when Americans were more sure of who their enemy was. We had a fixed idea of what was evil. There were some things we knew would destroy the fiber of our nation,” explains Bryant.[2]

However, that is no longer the case. The water has become murky and many Americans, Christians, and pastors no longer see issues as black and white, but a hazy grey.

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. (Is 5:20)

For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace… (I Cor 14:33)

If we lack clarity, we need to return to the Word of God. It is as we abide in Him and His Word that we will have clear understanding of His will and His ways.

So how do we begin? We pray for clarity. We pray for eyes to be opened.

“Ears that hear and eyes that see– the LORD has made them both.” (Pr 20:12)

If people can see the truth, most will walk in it. This begins as we pray off the blinders and deception that have blanketed our nation and every one of us. We need to pray that the scales that have been over eyes, in any area, will fall off. Will you join me?

Lord, forgive us that we have not stood our ground and have allowed unrighteousness to be established in the laws of our land. Lord, we ask for your help. This is far beyond what we can do on our own and so we call upon Your mighty hand to deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask first that you open our eyes. Help us to see what we are missing. If there is any place of offense which has opened the door to deception, we ask that you would reveal it to us and we repent. Show us your truth and shine your light on our nation.

Lord, we also pray that the eyes of every government leader, pastor, teacher, worker, every American and every person in this land would walk in Your truth. We pray that our eyes will also be opened and flooded with Light. Please remove the places of offense and deception that blind us to truth. Please show us what we cannot see and align our hearts with Yours so that we can see clearly again. Help us to clearly see right from wrong and good from evil.

Lord, we ask for those who have strayed from You that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will. (2 Tm 2:26)

We command confusion and division to go and ask that you would unite us again as one nation under God as we lay aside the places of division in race, gender, and political beliefs. We ask for revival in our land and for Your glory to be revealed. Lord, give us the strength and courage to stand in prayer and in action for this nation You have given to us. In Your mighty name we pray. Amen.

Abortion debate continued-att Sharon Corell

We reached the limit the replies in that thread

> Here’s where your logic falls apart, it’s not considered a murder
> because it’s a POTENTIAL human, not an actualized human.

You state that as if it’s a fact. But it is simply an opinion for which there there is no scientific basis. If you could explain what process a fetus goes through during the birth process that transforms it into a human being, I would consider your position to possibly have merit

^23 weeks, at the point of viability. This is a sticking point with Prolifers, they state bad science saying that the fetus is viable almost from conception. Simply not true. There are politicians that actually believe this.

You should also be aware that God is the actually the biggest abortionist. Even the bible doesn’t consider babies to be truly human until about a year old.

This is a very good article and I believe it needs to be put on social media. Wouldn’t that cause a ruckus?
Over the years I have seen different religions enter the US and they become naturalized citizens of the United States of American. They took a pledge to honor Anerican, but did they really mean it.
God has been taken out of schools, a plaque is taking down because someone is offended. This is very sad because American has let seekers come to this country of freedoms and it seems that the great lady of freedom is crying because everyone wants to be right.
We do not discuss problems anymore, we fight. We pull ourselves apart from each other because one of us HAS to be right.
God needs to come back but there are too many different eyes looking toward Heaven with no words coming from the heart.

Our Lord God, i would ask you to bind the spirit of confusion. I ask that you would release us to have a hunger and thirst for your word so we would not be easily deceived and so we would know how to live before you. I ask that you would give us love for every person here in America, to include the littlest humans in their mother’s wombs. I ask that you would give us love for those who we feel threaten our way of life, that we would apply Phil 4 in regard to this anxiety.

I thank you for this article and pray it would help focus us on how to fight for this country you have given us to defend; where you have called us to be Your salt, and Your light. In the mighty name of Jesus, i pray, Amen

I will be 67 years old this Saturday. I have spent my life trying to be good at what I do. I have been called all kinds of things because I wanted to do the job the way it is supposed be. The answer has always been it costs to much money to do it that way. I am/was a welder. The only people that made any attempt to do things the way it is supposed to be was millitary contractors. Civil contractors NEVER weld anything correctly. Why is it when someone wants kill somebody they do things the way it should be done!!!
People need to wake up!
A good place to start, protect your children, schools are no longer a place to educate them, demand that they teach the CONSTITUTION, it is the most important document in thier life!
I am living here in Peru because the state stoll my children!!

Lord,
Our country has strayed on so many levels:

1. Abortion – treating it as “health care” instead of what it is – killing babies. Thou shalt not kill, Exodus 20:13
2. Saying homosexual marriage is okay, when Your Word says otherwise Genesis 2:24 “Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and cleaves to his wife, and they become one flesh.”

And not allowing prayer and Your word in schools. What a mistake that is!! These are just a few of the areas we’ve strayed. Lord, help us to get back on track. Please, Lord build a hedge of protection around the U.S. We DO NOT want to be a Socialist country. We want to be led by You.
God, help us.

Here’s the thing though, why do so many Christians want the US to become Gilead? ( The Handmaid’s Tale). And make no mistake about it, we are well on our way to becoming Gilead and Trump is leading the way.

Christians are not being oppressed in this country, they are free to practice their religion in the way they see fit. The problem is that a good portion of Evangelical Christians preach hatred and bigotry from the pulpit, picking and choosing what parts of the bible to incorporate. All the while ignoring one of the most important tenants of God and Jesus, unconditional love and forgiveness.

For an example, such as abortion, why should someone who is an atheist or follows some other religion, be forced to follow another religion’s narrow minded view? Thus affecting that person’s right to proper health care (and I’m not arguing whether abortion is proper health care, every other civilized First World country considers it routine, and a part of proper reproductive health.) That is not “religous freedom” in the true sense of the word, because a certain group is pushing their views off on someone who does not believe in God or believes in a different God.

The ironic thing is as the old saying goes, be careful what you wish for, the ones pulling Trump’s strings, if their ideas come to fruition, we WILL lose many freedoms. One of those will be true religious freedom.

I can see you don’t read your Bible. I can see that you think you know everything. I can see that you are just following what God says in the Bible will happen in the end times where people will say what is evil is good and what is good is evil. The next thing to happen in human history is the rapture and if you keep on thinking the way you do you will be left behind. Satan is doing this to you and blind in your eyes. Start looking to God’s word and you will find your answers

I do understand that people believe that hatred and bigotry are alive and well in the Christian Church but I would like to ask you to do an experiment with your hypothesis and attend a Bible believing church and I think you may be very surprised to find an experience opposite of your expectations. I am not going to expect you to believe as I do but I would like to ask you to give yourself time to explore the truth about Christ. I do want to tell you that He loves you, died for you and He is willing to forgive any of us that reach out to Him asking Him to be our Lord. Personally I am a very flawed human being but God has graciously forgiven me and through Him I have hope.

Art, thank you for your comments. I would say that we view things from difference perspectives. Your comment that “Christians are not being oppressed in this country, they are free to practice their religion in the way they see fit.” Is not really true. Because over the last couple of years, one example is where Christian bakers can’t practice their religion as they see fit, they have been forced to bake cakes that go against their beliefs and their religion or face bankruptcy. Or if we speak out on issues of our biblical beliefs, we are told it is “hate speech.” According to some in the media and liberal left, Christians have been referred to as terrorists and dangerous. That would be called oppression. So I disagree that we are not being oppressed or trying to be silenced. You also state that you believe many evangelical Christians preach hate and bigotry. I’m sorry you feel that way. While Christians are not perfect, no one is. And perhaps what you view as hatred and bigotry, or as you call “narrow-minded” is simply part of the oppression that seeks to disallow us from following our beliefs for pro-life, marriage between a man and a woman, only two genders, male and female. Those are just part of our beliefs, but they are our beliefs and it has nothing to do with hating others or bigotry, its about following the example of Christ and the Word of God and our religious beliefs–which is part of our American heritage.

      Karen,

Let’s narrow this down some. You mention prolife, and I get into this debate all the time on other sites. There’s a case where a ten year old in India was denied an abortion. At least 70% of prolifers would force that child to give birth. While they say they are about the unborn babies, what about the child who is in the mess through no fault of her own? They can’t reconcile it.

You mention that in the cases of the bakers who would not bake a cake for a same sex wedding, and are vocal about it. Here’s the thing, they weren’t being forced to do so, they said no and it was the PUBLIC that crucified them over it. They lost the business because the public disagreed with their actions. It’s not a matter of being opressed, in this case, it’s a matter of the public saying we disagree with your beliefs. As the saying goes, money talks.

I DO NOT agree that Christians are terrorist in any way, shape or form, mainstream Churches (methodist, etc) do great things locally and in some cases abroad. However, the actions of the bad apples, are turning people away from the mainstream churches, and attendance has been dropping off dramatically. If you look at the mainstream Churches youth attitudes toward LBGT, (including those youth that don’t go to Church,) they are far more accepting and forgiving.

So how is it that Christians feel they are being oppressed? They are allowed to say and do what they want but as I have pointed out, there’s a disconnect that’s growing.

The hate speech and discrimination is mostly coming from the far christian right, yet they don’t understand that this is seriously hurting a segment of the population that’s already vulnerable, and worse, it’s affecting kids. In some cases, if the kid has not come out to their parents, and that kid gets outed by the school, the parents might kick their child out of the house.

      Does this make sense now?

Thanks for your clarification of your beliefs.

In the case you cite of a ten-year old pregnant through rape in India, it is indeed tragic. But does killing the innocent child who was conceived solve the issue? How is murder ever right?

Additionally if the ten year old’s life was endangered during the pregnancy because of her size, the doctor would take the baby to save the life of the mother. The bottom line is abortion has been used as a form of birth control. It has been wrapped in the false narrative that it is necessary to remain legal in case there are medical issues that arise in order to protect the life of the mother.

That isn’t what is happening. 60 million abortions in America since abortion was legalized. Less than 1% of pregnancies fall into the category where there is a life-threatening issue to the mother’s life and the doctor is faced with the question of one life over another. What has been proven with that number of abortions, is not that a mother’s life was in danger, simply her lifestyle when she decided she didn’t want to be a mother and yet was pregnant. Abortion should have never been legalized to be birth control which is what has happened and then labeled a “right.”

Regarding the Christian baker, you believe that they were not being forced to bake a cake against their beliefs but were only crucified by the public?

Legal action taken against the bakers proves your comment to be erroneous. Baker Klein was charged a $135,000 fine by the Oregon Courts saying the baker broke the law.

However, that ruling was overturned by the Supreme Court which stated the baker did not break the law but had the right to his religious beliefs and the courts could not force him or fine him to bake a cake that went against his religious beliefs.

In essence, the Oregon courts were abusing their power to oppress the baker because they disagreed with his religious beliefs. Even after the Supreme Court overruled them…they doubled down and have been trying to file other charges. That is definitely harassment.

If the Oregon baker, as a Christian, does not want to make a cake that has gay slogans on it (it wasn’t just a wedding cake—it was one that openly promoted the gay union) then he should be able to decline and they could go somewhere else. He told them he would make them another kind of cake. He wasn’t refusing to serve THEM…just wasn’t willing to put his name on a cake that promoted something that went against his beliefs. And yet Oregon courts are still trying to get him over this issue. That is oppression and harassment.

I agree that there are “bad apples” calling themselves Christians that make us all look bad. But that can be said of any organization or group actually. However, when you say that church youth attitudes towards LGBTQ are more accepting and forgiving I think those are two different things.

I agree that many young people have accepted what has been pushed by the liberal media which is that if we call homosexuality a sin it is “hate speech.” It’s not.

To hate on homosexuals, to call them vile names–THAT is hate speech. To simply declare that we believe marriage is only between a man and a woman. Or to say we do not want to see the LGBTQ agenda taught to our young children in schools, that is not hate speech, that is about living our Christian beliefs. That is called protecting our children from what we believe to be harmful agendas. We are simply standing up for our religious rights. We are not saying LGBTQ people can’t live as they have chosen. That is THEIR right. But to make our children share a bathroom with someone of the opposite sex, or for them to have to endure teaching contrary to science or the Bible, is not something we should be forced to endure.

I have LGBT friends and people in service positions that I frequent. We are friends. I like them. However, I don’t agree with their lifestyle. They know I’m a Christian and where I stand. I don’t reject them. But just the same as a couple living together outside of marriage, the Bible is clear that both are sin. As Christians we cannot lower the bar and change what the Bible says. It’s a black and white issue. We need to learn as Christians better ways on how to “love the sinner, but reject the sin.” I think this has not always been done well.

Young people today may be more “forgiving” of those sins. But ultimately their acceptance or “forgiveness” of sin doesn’t change what it is. And it is ultimately not what they do that matters but what God says that matters.

My role as a Christian is to love others—but also to be willing to share with them the danger of living a part from God and choosing a sinful lifestyle. I think the church needs to grow in their ability to know how to communicate this in a loving way and we have often failed, but to remain silent isn’t loving. It isn’t forgiving. It is allowing someone to fall off a cliff into Hell.

Wow. wall of text 😉 Alrighty here we go.

In the case you cite of a ten-year old pregnant through rape in India, it is indeed tragic. But does killing the innocent child who was conceived solve the issue? How is murder ever right?

^Here’s where your logic falls apart, it’s not considered a murder because it’s a POTENTIAL human, not an actualized human. Think of a fertilized chicken egg, potential chicken, not a fully formed one. Same difference. Another example was the uproar over the New York bill that apparently allowed abortions minutes after birth. Make no mistake that this completely manufactured outrage. I read the bill, all it did was remove the 20 week ban on abortion in the event that R v W was overturned. It allowed for late term abortions in the event that something has gone horribly wrong. A born baby is an actualized human and is fully protected under the law.

Also, understand that very late term abortions are very rare, less than 1% of the total done. By the 6-7 month, the nursery is ready, diapers and clothes have been bought and the parents are eagerly awaiting the new arrival. They are fully vested. Then the phone call from the doctor comes that causes their entire world to collapse.

Additionally if the ten year old’s life was endangered during the pregnancy because of her size, the doctor would take the baby to save the life of the mother.

^You’ve already proven my side of this debate. You would essentially force birth the ten year old. What if this pregnancy kills the child or ruins her chances to have more children when she’s ready? There’s also a good chance that she knew/formerly loved her rapist ie: family member. How is right that she would be forced to to see that baby every day and be reminded about what happened. The logic that “she will rise above the rape” is false dichotomy. A ten year old is very much still in the concrete thinking stage, very much here and now, and an abstract idea such as rising above the rape, she will not understand it. An American ten year old will have to have counseling to get through it.

So many aren’t seeing the forest for the trees in this whole debate.

The bottom line is abortion has been used as a form of birth control. It has been wrapped in the false narrative that it is necessary to remain legal in case there are medical issues that arise in order to protect the life of the mother.

^Too lazy/late to Google tonight (I’m bad I know :-), but it’s late and I’m very tired), but please do research on real sites that do not have an agenda, real medical sites, yes, there are reasons for abortions to save the life of the mother, off the top of my head, preclampsia is one. Harlequin Baby is another. (Whatever you do, do NOT GIS that one, it’s a real nightmare factory) As for as abortions for birth control are directly tied to the anti sex argument. Most abortions are women who already have children, and cannot afford another one, her other children would suffer.

Prolifers have four basic arguments. I see these all the time and know within a few lines, where the person I’m talking to stands.

          1. Anti Sex-This is the idea that people should not have sex unless it’s for reproduction. The problem is that they want to push this idea off onto the general public. It’s unrealistic.

          2. God/Jesus-Self explanatory

          3. Hatred for women, wanting to control them.

          4. Slvt shaming. The woman must pay for that one night of pleasure.

Prolifers use a mixture of these to justify their position.

You are correct about the bakers being sued, I had forgotten about that. Addressing the rest of your post is going to involve research.

I’ll continue after receiving your response to this.

I too believe it is time that Christ followers take a stand for Gods truth, Only He can move and change hearts but if no one is willing to share that truth How will they know. Eternity is forever and if they are lost who is at fault, not God for He has revealed His truth through His word . I pray God strengthen us give us the words to speak AS HE DID WITH THE PROTHETS, In Jesus Name I pray Amen

Sad but true: “Unless America as a nation return to God in revival and repentance, we certainly will lose the precious privileges and benefits of liberty and prosperity that we have enjoyed for centuries.” The book of Hosea mentions several important truths that caused the downfall of the historic nation of Israel: 1. 4:1 – there is no truth, no love, no knowledge of God in the land; 2…judgment will happen to both people and priests (ministers)…they abandoned their devotion to the Lord (4:9,10); 3. “they installed Kings but not through me.They have appointed leaders without my approval; …silver and gold are idols for them (8:4). 4. “Come let us return to the Lord, He will revive us”(6:1,2)

Unfortunately, in my opinion, we have become a nation where: our politics is more important than our Christianity; being in power and control of the government is more important than preserving the values of our nation; having our 2nd Amendment rights to guns is more important than our fellow citizens rights to life; we pridefully assert that our political party and positions are right, and the others are wrong; the moral character of our leaders are not important, as long as we win; we pray for what we want, not for God’s will.

If we truly read and study our Bibles will an open heart and mind; we as a people will change, seek God’s face, and learn to live more in harmony and holiness, as oppose to the conflict, confusion, immorality, bloodshed and division that plaque our society today ( Hosea 4:1,2). All of which is evidence that “we have turned away from following the ways of God (Hosea 14:9).

I pray that we will return to the Lord (Hosea 6:1-3)
