Discerning Prayer for the Judge Gorsuch Nomination

I have a heavy heart. My heart is heavy because of the gravity of the hearings of Judge Neil Gorsuch’s appointment to the Supreme Court of the United States of America. The impact these nine justices have on our country is monumental. Just one example is abortion law. Since 1973, when this court mandated legalized abortion, 60,000,000 innocent lives have been lost. Several generations of Americans have been raised in a cultural climate accepting the injustice of abortion because the Supreme Court wrongly determined that the Constitution required it.
In Micah 5:15, God reminds us, “I will take vengeance in anger and wrath on the nations that have not obeyed me.” The Supreme Court effectively determines whether America will obey God by determining for us what is right and just.
Judge Neil Gorsuch has done a tremendous job this week. He is clearly intelligent, articulate, well-mannered, and an able jurist. It will be difficult for Democratic Senators to justify opposing his appointment to the bench.
Conservatives and Republicans are encouraged that he is against judicial activism, believing judicial rulings should not be based upon personal political considerations, but rather on existing law. He seems to be a strict constructionist and interprets the Constitution as our founding fathers would have interpreted it. Additionally, his opinions have been upheld 97% of the time and he has been in the majority 99% of the time during his tenure on the 10th District Court of Appeals.
As intercessors, though, we look beyond the surface. We understand that there is another level of spiritual activity and forces that far exceed what we see playing out before us in Washington, D.C. We must ask the Lord for divine revelation to see things in order to pray effectively about this situation.
When accepting President Trump’s nomination, Judge Gorsuch said that he builds his life on his faith and family. Initial reports (even reports that I repeated) relayed he is a devoted husband, father of two daughters, and active in his Episcopal church.
What troubles me is that we don’t know enough about his personal faith. He was raised Catholic and attended Georgetown Preparatory School (a Jesuit school) in Maryland. His current church is St. John’s Episcopal in Boulder, Colorado. The rector, Susan Springer, attended the January 21 women’s protest march in D.C., and said she will be a part of “Indivisible, USA,” which is openly fighting against the Trump agenda. Finally, Judge Gorsuch’s rector openly supports gay marriage.
I would like to know how Judge Gorsuch relies upon Nature’s law when determining the use of precedent in cases. The answer to this would be a barometer of how much he would rely upon his faith when deciding cases.
I am not saying that this man should be disqualified from the Supreme Court. What I am saying is intercessors need to be praying! We need to intercede that God would expose what He wants exposed, that He would arrest the process if it is His will, and that He would put into place a justice who would rule in ways to bring “His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.” We also need to pray for Judge Gorsuch to have a vibrant, growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
It is with these prayer points that I offer the opportunity to send a prayer to your Senator, that they may carefully consider the vote they might put forth on the nomination of Judge Gorsuch to the Supreme Court of the United States of America with this reminder: He said to the judges, “Consider what you are doing, for you do not judge for man but for the Lord who is with you when you render judgment. Now then let the fear of the Lord be upon you; be very careful what you do.” (2 Chr. 19:6-7 NASB)

We us America need to stand firm in the Lord and Pray without seizing and ask God to intervene, that He will touch the heart of that person sitting in that position , it has to be godly man that fear God and submissive to our Lord Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior otherwise the Lord said that the friend of this world is the enmity of God. 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people called me by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Reading about his background, I am taken aback. He has been sitting under the leadership of several philosophies. He is willingly submitting himself under the leadership of openly opposition to our President and upholding the militant gay and abortion agenda.
I am thinking he must be very confused in his understanding and perhaps in his relationship with God, he does not search and think for himself.
We truly look through a glass darkly…and only see what one wants us to see.
Seeking God fervently for months now and feel the answer is Neil Gorsuch! I have such peace about him in that position! Thank you,
I have prayed fervently and feel very strongly that Neil Gorsuch is the man chosen by God for the office of the Federal Supreme Court at this time. I do want the best for this Nation.
I ask you to vote Neil Gorsuch into the Federal Supreme Court. I think he will do an outstanding Job as a Justice for America! Thank you, Beatrice Norman

My (identical) prayer letters to my two U.S. Senators:
1. were based exclusively on THAT advice (nothing about Judge Gorsuch himself, his faith, practices, etc.) and
2. included the following personally-selected scriptures:
Ephesians 3:16-21 (Prayer for Comprehension),
Phillipians 4:7 (Peace) and
Proverbs 3(:1-35) (Wisdom Bestows Well-being), especially verses ~~~ 5-8 ~~~ (faith, obedience & blessing).
Although it was a bit lengthy, it was neutrally/objectively ?edifying?, — hopefully, anyway. If any of you hasn’t yet sent your two U.S. senators a prayer, then PLEASE go to the end of the above article, just before Dave’s “by-line”, to the link called “HERE” and send a quick fervent prayer to them (simultaneously). They need it as much as we do, if not moreso. Thank you SO MUCH! God bless and Godspeed! In Christ.
We have all prayed about this ~ for some time now. I have had His answer of peace over Judge Gorsuch. I am not going to second guess it. Because someone is an Episcopalian, does not mean he does not love Christ. I understand about the war going on in that denomination ~ and about the abomination of sin ~ but everyone is not under that mantle. And because Judge Gorsuch didn’t do what you would have done ~ doesn’t mean he’s not a Christian or doesn’t mean he isn’t the man for the Supreme Court.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in heavenly realms.
Take your concerns to Jesus. He knows.
I too am very concerned of Judge Gorsuch’s church affiliation. My prayer is that God will remove him if this is not the man He wants on the bench. His will be done in this situation.

Praying for God’s will!
I really must wonder at the Pastors who are supposed to be preaching God’s law and have faith in His rule, going and supporting the political flavor of the month (i.e. gay Marriage and lifestyle). In Leviticus it clearly and unambiguously states that God views homosexuality as an abomination. I draw the conclusion then that this means He’s against it. So in that light of understanding, these supposed Pastors who are supporting this false law will have some real ‘splaining to do when they stand before Christ at their particular judgment when they die. Of course we know that Christ who sees what’s in a persons heart will already know the answer. My fear is that they are already committing the unforgivable sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. I fail to see how you can avow a belief in God, yet support something He’s against. That’s kinda like saying “I know better than God on this particular subject. Not a very wise stance to be taking. Gorsuch’s female pastor needs to check herself before she wrecks herself … but then she’s from the Peoples Republic of Boulder – 26 square miles of fantasy surrounded by reality.
The matter of Judge Gorsuch’s church affiliation greatly concerns me. I don’t know how he can sit under a rector who supports gay marriage. I read that there is another Episcopal church in his town that he could attend. Rick Joyner, head of Morningstar Ministries near Charlortte, NC has written that he does not feel Judge Gorsuch is the right choice. My prayer is that the Lord will rule and reign over this and that He will convict and convince the senators to vote righteously on this crucial matter.
