SOGI laws. The most important new legal trend you may not heard of or understand, but is coming everywhere-it’s already in the sleepy little bedroom community where IFA is located, the City of South Euclid, Ohio, and many others.
Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) laws are designed to protect the rights of LGBTQ people in a similar way that Civil Rights laws were created to address the wrongs of segregation and racial discrimination. But, they do so at the expense of religious freedom.
The Heritage Foundation explains it well in a great article entitled SOGI Laws are Not Fairness for All: “SOGI laws are about forcing all Americans to embrace—and live out—certain beliefs about human sexuality. They are not about protecting the freedom of people to live as LGBT, but about coercing everyone else to support, facilitate, and endorse such actions. The Catholic Lyceum school in South Euclid filed a lawsuit today challenging the SOGI law. The 7 minute video below explains the case, but here are a few of the important points for prayer and to watch out for in your jurisdiction.
When the town council was debating the proposed SOGI ordinance, they didn’t really understand the implications of it. When this was pointed out, the response was to pass it and then figure out what the law means. Further, the town council ignored the constitutional and religious objections to the ordinance. They even took a religious exemption out of the final version of the ordinance.
Pray for the Lyceum school case, that it will be used to establish religious freedom definitively. But also pray for your community. Pray for Christians to be bold in sharing their faith and their concerns about how laws will impact our faith. Pray for these laws to be stopped and for people to realize how dangerous they are.

Standing in sympathy and support for this private religious school.
My children went to a Protestant private school for 9 years each. They too were free to learn about our faith. No conflicting ideologies were forced upon the school.
Christians, others need to fight the imposition of these proposed laws..in gracious but wise ways…which might include going to court.as The Lyceum did….or putting up better candidates for local city councils.
As said in Lord of the Rings to those not wishing to get in the conflict …..”War is already upon you!”.
What is the “cry” actually about?
The specifics of God, prayer and the right to teach such is resigned to “Christian” schools, churches….
so then, if as such SOGI is defensively concerned…there is space available I’m sure to build schools that facilitate beliefs that reflect the need for SOGI,is also a choice that bears the same availability and such choosing as “straight” and/or ” Christian ” schools. However, I stand believing God created male and female….male and female created He them and if there is any fight to be had…duke it out with God.

Your reply is confusing because you are posing an argument from the author of confusion. If you do indeed believe the verses in Genesis then there is no room for other so- called genders or orientations. Embracing SOGI laws to enforce these lies ( in the phony assertion of the golden rule) is not loving, nor is it honoring to the God of the bible Who created them male & female.
