For those of us who live by a biblical worldview, it’s hard not to be frustrated by the recent events with the partisan impeachment coup attempt. The actions in the House of Representatives and their determination to impeach the President as well as their decision to stall votes that are good for our country so President Trump won’t get a “win,” are truly deplorable.
I met up recently with one of our government officials in D.C. to discuss the situation. While we are frustrated, it’s important that we recognize so are they! One of our senators stated in reference to the impeachment inquiry, “We feel we are bystanders watching from the sidelines, but unable to do anything to affect the outcome.”

Most of us are aware that the inquiry is happening in secret, behind closed doors, in a “Democrats only” process. The senator continued, “It’s not ok. It should bother us all. They hold interviews for eight to nine hours a day behind closed doors and then release a three-minute clip to the press. In addition, President Trump has not been given the chance to respond or face his accusers. This should bother us all.”
When asked how we can and should pray he responded, “Pray for the President. He always seems unsettled. We need to pray for him for peace and wisdom.”
The prayer for peace is a good prayer for all of our leaders, both those we agree with and those we don’t. Congress is unsettled. Our President needs to be settled—at peace in heart and mind.
Lord, we speak peace into our government, our President and to our elected officials and their staff. Lord, we pray first for those who acknowledge You and seek Your face. Fill them with your peace, wisdom, and understanding. Keep them in perfect peace and may their minds be steadfast upon You. (Is 26:3) Give them courage in this hour. Fill them with godly strategies and wisdom to know what to do each day and with each vote. May they seek Your will. Give them the strength to stand strong against the fear of man. May their hearts align with yours.
We pray specifically for our President that he will have a settled mind. Lord, fill him with the peace of God and the mind of God. You said that the king’s heart is like channels of water in Your hand and you turn it wherever you wish. (Prv 21:1) We ask that you would turn President Trump’s heart fully to you and to righteousness for our nation. We ask that he would be a president who would sit on the throne of justice, for righteous judgments in our land so that evil would be dispersed. (Prv 20:8) We pray that he would prepare plans by godly consultation and would not make war except by wise guidance. (Prv 20:18)
We also pray for our government officials who don’t acknowledge you and in fact those who shake their fist at You. We pray that they will escape from the snare of the devil that has held them captive to do his will. (2 Tim 2:26) Lord, we ask that their eyes will be opened and that they will see and know the Truth and that the Truth will set them free. (Jn 8:32)
We pray that the spirit of chaos and division that has been unleashed in our land would bow its knee to the name of Jesus. For those who refuse to repent and bow their knee to you, but continue to press in for their own prideful agendas, may ruin overtake them by surprise– may the net they hid for the president entangle them, may they fall into the pit, to their ruin. (Ps 35:8) For greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. (I Jn 4:4)
We would do well to remember in this chaotic time in our nation, that it is the goodness of God that draws men to repentance. As the media and those who do not support a biblical worldview work to stir hatred against the president, our response should not match theirs. May we remember to pray for them rather than just speak against them. Let us continue to pray for our nation for revival and return to a biblical and godly foundation.

Heavenly Father, we pray for President Trump, that “he shall live and not die, and proclaim the Glory of God.” That You would “encamp Your Angels around him.” That he would “put on the whole armor of God” that his “ears would be attentive to Your voice” that he would get rest and be refreshed in the Lord. That he would bow before You, and know that the battle is Yours,” “it’s not by power or might, but by Your Spirit says the Lord.”

Dear Lord I lift up our President to you and lift his arms up as was done to Moses to support him in this time of battle. For truly he finds himself in the crucible used to allow the intense heat to purify his soul and allow the impurities to burn off leaving the pure precious attributes that You require for us to live a life unto You. I pray as the fire is turned up that You reach out to him and teach him your ways. Show him how to die to the old self and take up the cross and enter into Your kingdom. Help him to understand the Kingdom of God and all the principles that are so contrary to the way of the world. Help him unlearn dependence on self and learn dependence on You. I pray that you increase his faith. Bring to mind all the prayers that have been spoken with the laying on of hands and show him Your spirit at work all for Your glory. Give him patience, give him a word, a prophecy, a dream to be used as encouragement and to open his mind to allow you to guide and direct. Give him spiritual eyes and appropriate gifts in the Spirit to help him to direct and lead our Nation. Put a shield around him, protect him. Give him a balance in all he does. Show him how to be the most effective and show him behaviors that are not helpful. I believe Your hand is on him and You will complete the good work You started. For all things work together for good to those that love God and are called according to His will.
We trust You dear Lord and acknowledge that we only see in part what is taking place. Bring this battle to a decisive conclusion and may Your goodness and justice prevail in the end.

The Bible doesn’t say that if we are good, or peaceful that will bring people to repentance! This is a bad misreading of scripture. It actually states clearly that repentance is a gift from a good God, and is only available to those who God gifts it to. That verse in Romans is very very clear that repentance is offered but wicked people reject it, and are doomed to eternal destruction. These leaders must be challenged for their ungodliness, and warned – the Bible is very clear on this. This “other gospel” is a soft and false one.

We agree and pull down the strongholds causing these divisions and infighting. We turn the battle to the enemy camp. We release civil war into the enemy camp, confuse their tongues and let them kill one another in Jesus’ name.
We demolish strongholds and every evil imagination against the President, we bind their words. We release angels of God to burn the demons scrolls, banners, flags, standards and seals and break their cups in Jesus’ name.
We lose the fire of God upon every demon in Jesus’ name. We lose fiery destruction on all demons that have been released on the government right now in Jesus’ name.
We command this mountain of division, impeachment and false accusations to be moved and cast into the sea in Jesus’ name. We take back our peace and order by force in Jesus’ name.
The name of the Lord is our help, the strong tower. The righteous run into it and they are safe. Thank you, Lord for doing this battle in Jesus’ name.

No WONDER our President “seems unsettled”. God HELP us!!! Father protect and defend our President from ALL who only ADD to his burden and offer no prayers, or encouragement or support. Who WOULDN’T “seem unsettled” in his position?? Praying for God Himself to strengthen and sustain our President, and to be his Encourager and the Lifter of his head, heart, and spirit, at this most horrendous and evil time of upheaval, that is, in effect, a “coup”. May ALL with evil intent both inside and outside the White House begin to fall like dominoes one-after-the-other before our very eyes. Father may it be so. Moooove and intervene as only You can at this SOS and urgent time, in Jesus name, amen.

Dear God, Our nation is in turmoil, but this does not surprise You. Nothing takes You by surprise. We humbly come before Your throne asking for Your intercession in this awful sham that is happening in Washington. We ask You not to let any weapon formed against President Trump prevail. Please give him strength, peace and calmness through this storm. Please build a hedge of protection around his family. Please let our President come out as the victor, not his enemies. The end of your prayer is for the ruin of the evil ones, but then your closing paragraph says we should pray for them and not against them!?
Hi Lori. The fight is the Lord’s, not ours. That’s why we need to pray for their salvation. The Word is very clear what happens to evil doers and where they end up.
Jesus gave us the keys to the kingdom saying, whatever you bind (do not permit) on earth, is already not permitted in heaven; whatever you loose (permit) on earth, is already permitted in heaven. Psalm 110 says, He is seated at the right hand of His Father expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. And goes on to say, The Lord shall send forth the rod of His strength out of Zion, (that’s us); rule thou in the midst of your enemies (Christ is in us and he wants to rule through us.) Your people will be willing in the day of Your power, and the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning…The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of His wrath. He shall judge among the heathen…Also, Jesus said to pray like this, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven. Darkness and unrighteousness do not rule in heaven! We must agree together and bind satan, who is the father of lies; there is no truth in him, and this wicked Jezebel principality that has ruled for long enough in our nation! We have awakened and now we subdue and take dominion over the evil in the earth. We have been born for such a time as this!! We are not wrestling with people but the principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, and wicked spirits in high places, that they have given place to. We do not PRAY sweetly, politely regarding these evil spirits. WE TAKE DOMINION! Psalm 2, Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? O Lord, hear our prayers for truth and righteousness to prevail. Listen to our cry for mercy and move quickly. We see chaos around us in all the world . Let us not become discouraged but give us strength to stand strong in prayer as You fight for us, for the battle and the victory is Yours. We stand arms raised in praise and eyes watching the marvelous things you do! Help us always to remember this is a battle not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of evil.
