I Prayed have prayed
Father God, we pray in agreement for religious freedom to prevail in the Bladensburg Peace Cross case.

The important case of the Bladensburg Peace Cross was argued before the Supreme Court this term. From First Liberty:

Is a 100-year-old WWI Veterans Memorial unconstitutional simply because its shaped like a cross? That’s the question the U.S. Supreme Court is deciding. Veterans memorials are living reminders of the service and sacrifice of those who gave their lives defending our country’s freedom. However, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit declared unconstitutional the historic cross-shaped Bladensburg World War I Veterans Memorial, which has stood since 1925 in honor of 49 Bladensburg-area men who died during WWI. First Liberty Institute intervened in the case on behalf of The American Legion whose seal is prominently displayed at the memorial’s center. In February 2019, First Liberty, working with the law firm of Jones Day, asked the U.S. Supreme Court to reverse the Fourth’s Circuit’s decision and preserve memorials all over America. A decision from the Court is expected in June.

Recently, IFA intercessor Laura Nguyen asked IFA to remind you to keep praying for the Bladensburg Cross. Here are the excellent prayer points she shared with us.

Bladensburg Cross Prayer Points

Pray that God will lead the Supreme Court to side with First Liberty Institute and find that the Bladensburg Cross is neither government endorsement nor establishment of a state religion, but an expression of religious belief, which is a guaranteed freedom under the First Amendment.

Pray that the Supreme Court and others will see the cross as an expressive memorial for families mourning their fallen soldiers, representing the solace found in their personal religious beliefs by acknowledging for the dead their sacrifice, their faith, and their spiritual immortality.

Pray that victory in this court case will bring honor and glory to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit by preemptively defeating those who would suppress our religious freedom and by bringing more people to Christ.

Please share these prayer points with your friends. Removing this cross would be a terrible, far-reaching precedent that would affect memorials everywhere.

Prayer does change things. We are blessed to live in America. Hopefully, as a nation we will humble ourselves before our Lord. Seeking repentance and wisdom to know right from wrong. Let’s keep hope in these times.

Oh God I pray for some levity of reality and common sense, as well as adherence to traditional values and why we have these monuments. Lord God, let your spirit work in the minds and the hearts of the courts and of the people involved. Why do people let Satan rule their heart to destroy an image; that is not going to destroy the meaning of the image and what the “cross” in this case stands for. It will destroy the memorial and the reminder of those for whom it was established. It is an icon and a part of the community where it stands; it is a reminder of the cost of our freedom and the willingness of men to go, to stand and to die for their country and their neighbors. How can the naysayers and the disruptors forget that important point? Oh God, open the hearts and minds of these people, soften their hearts; Lord bind and put a hedge against the powers and influences of satan, until the day the day he is cast away into hell. Only you Lord God have the power to change hearts and minds; let your spirit work mightily in our nations, in our courts and halls of government.

Yes Lord Jesus, only YOU have the power to change the hearts and minds of these people in government to do the right thing concerning this beautiful cross that has been in display for over a 100 years! Amen. All in Your Name.

Lord Jesus ,I pray this historic monument The Cross is a part of history and is grandfathered in. That it is exempt and that this case be thrown out from the courts law. Lord Jesus , You concord death, hell and the grave. We know the Courts of heaven are higher than man’s court and the courts of heaven with all Power and Authority says,” “This Cross Stays” ,”and the Gavalin hammer hits.”. We know,”It’s is finished.” In Jesus Mighty Name,Amen.

Lord I pray we won’t let our memorials be destroyed or altered because someone is offended by them. Help us remember the price that was paid when monument was first erected. Turning this cross into a muslim symbol is not the answer.
I pray Your Honor would be restored to our cemmetaries, and public places. We honor our dead, and those who paid such high price for our freedom!
