Jesus, You are the Word. We exalt You. Show us how to help engage the world with You, the Word made flesh.

Intercessors for America is thrilled to be part of Together 2020, a gathering of Christians in Washington, D.C. on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial on 6/20/20. Together 2020 will be a living tribute to the Bible–an immersive experience of art, music, and culture as a part of  the Year of the Bible. Thousands of churches, ministries, and individuals are coming together to see more Scripture engagement than ever before.

Last week, IFA staff had the privilege of participating in, and praying for, a meeting of D.C. leaders in advance of this incredible event. We were blown away by all the creative and inspired ways that ministries and leaders are encouraging Bible engagement. We are so excited to share some of these resources with you. You can find out even more at yearofthebible.com and for resources at yearofthebible.com/resources.

When the book of the law was lost and then found by Josiah, it was lost in the temple! Bible knowledge and engagement has been trending down with each new generation. But if the Bible can be lost in the Church, it can also be found, just like in Josiah’s day. There are amazing organizations that are determined to engage more and more people with the Bible, which the evidence suggests is the best way to create true disciples of Christ.

I want to highlight a few that really excited me. First, I was amazed by the story of the Streetlights app. The founder was leading a Bible study in the inner city of Chicago, the hood he called it, and found that most of the young men he was discipling couldn’t read. He decided to record himself reading the Bible to a kind of rap beat. As I listen, I get Holy Spirit chill bumps, imagining how precious our Lord is–the Word being spoken in a way these young men can understand and relate to! You know that there is power in the Word spoken aloud. Your young friends may really love listening to the Bible in this way.

Another resource I want to highlight is the Bible project. Have you seen their amazing videos? They are shareable and so clear. God gave us our five senses for a reason, and when Scripture is presented engaging several senses, it is incredibly impactful. This video on Peace is particularly appropriate for right now.

Have you heard about Go2020? They aim to mobilize 100 million believers to reach 1 Billion people with the Gospel in May 2020 worldwide, with a goal of  mobilizing 10 million Americans to reach 100 million. This is the largest evangelistic movement in history and we can all be a part of it. You don’t need me to preach to you about Jesus’ command to go and make disciples of all nations. I am praying for the Holy Spirit to inspire every believer to share the truth of Christ, beginning with me.

The American Bible Society offers all sorts of incredible resources, much more than I imagined. One that they highlighted is the State of the Bible 2019. This research underscores the vital importance of engaging people with the Bible.

There were so many other amazing Bible engagement resources presented. They are all on the Year of the Bible website.

We at IFA know that you are concerned about the next generation. We receive your prayer requests for your children and grandchildren, your nieces and nephews, and more. We are also all parents and some of us are also grandparents. Pray about how you can encourage Bible engagement in creative ways that you may not have known existed. Pray about reaching out to your loved ones in ways that will resonate and touch them where they are.

Leave a comment with the name or names of some of the young people you are praying for and click Amen! as you pray for other intercessors’ loved ones.

Finally, I leave you with a video from Spoken Gospel on the book of Genesis. This method of sharing God’s truth is so beautiful. If you like it, pray about who you can share it with.

I lift up RLP, EV, GG, CJ, CEBLL, ARR, KBJL, KJPL,GNL, Bialo, Lolo, RL jr, AL, IL, EL, THL, Ardt, JR jr. Lord God you are high and mighty. I lift up my children and grandchildren (and the ‘significant others” attached to them) for you to work in, to will to do your will. Please bless enormously those who choose you and your ways, and please break up the hard ground in the others’ hearts. Help all to understand their need of repentance and forgiveness. Help all to know your generous love and embrace it wholeheartedly. Please give your comfort, courage, strength, and protection as each navigates the path you lay out for them. And I pray the same for each child and grandchild mentioned on the other requests. You are greater than my meager words and you are able to save and keep! Thank you that you are our God who hears the fervent prayers of parents and grandparents. In the holy and revered Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I pray.

Heavenly Father, In the Name of Your Son, Lord of Lord, and King of Kings I pray for all loved ones named for each of their respectives needs in assuring a deep walk with you will be met, and that those praying will see and be comforted as YOU answer their prayers. I pray for my family members and all extended family members that their faith will grow, and those who do not know you will come to know you as their Lord and Savior. I especially bring Jonathan C. to Your Throne Lord as he needs spiritual and physical healing though He is a Christian, but has lost his way, and needs to be brought back to the Straight and Narrow Path where He first knew the Lord as His Savior. Thank you for hearing our prayers and for answering all our prayers according to Your Will for Your glory, and in turn, we will be glorified as You love all of us very, very much. Amen.

Father God: First of all, I love and praise You. Thank You that we have the privilege of coming to You on behalf of our lost loved ones, the ones who are walking a guilty distance. I bring these in my family to You: Russ, Reed, Aly, and Shep. They’re all busy and have a form of goodness, but not according to You and Your Word, about which they know so very little. I taught them as children, but
they’ve turned away and have gone the way of the world. But I stand on Your promises that they will come back to You, and I desire to see and know this before I die, Lord, please. I pray all of this in the Mighty Name of Jesus, my Savior and Lord. Amen

Praying for my grandkids,
Nichole, Halie, Hunter, Weston, Jacob, Joe, Lacey and great granddaughter Flora. Lord I pray they have an unquenchable thirst for truth that will not be satisfied until they find YOU, JESUS. Open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, from the power of satan toYOU LORD so they would receive forgiveness of their sins. May they abhor what is evil and cling to what is good. May they be drawn to YOU because of YOUR great love for them. Thank You for Your grace and mercy that is new every morning. May we all love You more.

Our son is SAVED and has no doubt about his SALVATION. But his youngest children ages 10 and 11 : MARSHALL and RAVEN MILES only go to church when I— their grandmother take them. I live 2 states away. Our son says the church be was raised in is no longer “the same” but HIS children LOVE going to church with me. There are many churches in very short driving distances.

Dear Lord Jesus, you know how long I have prayed for my children and grandchildren and have tried to teach them your way. But they are still in the world. Please somehow get hold of their hearts and bring them to you. I cannot do it, but only you can. Break down their resistance and give them loving hearts toward you and others. Their names are Jill, Scott, Tom, Danny, Lauren, Stephen and Ellie, and also Whitney who is a friend and she is drawing closer to you. I pray for all the other mothers and grandparents who are praying for their families, may their prayers be answered in Jesus Name. Thank you Lord.

Lord please speak to the hearts of parents and grandparents to study the word of God alone and with family. To share it freely with their families through word and deeds. Let us take every opportunity to play and pray with our kids and grandkids. It will be their Salvation and joy as they read and study Your Word for themselves one day. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

It’s been said, God has no grandchildren. But where would any of us be if not for the prayers of our godly grandparents?
Oh LORD God Almighty, I cry out for the children, and grandchildren, and great grand children… of Leatha Mary Copenhaver. How she prayed for us all to come to You, Father. How she loved You and never rested while she was living in her prayers to You for her 10 children and their many many offspring. Father, strengthen this new generation of believing parents and grandparents as we see the world crumbling before us into the slime pits of sodom, and worse than the days of Noah. Let us and our grandchildren rise up, be bold, stand firm, and be ready on that Day. For we were born for such a time as this, to lift up Your Holy Name, to be Your instruments, Your servants, Your preachers to this lost and hurting world. Bless this family in a mighty way to be saved before everlasting late, to be busy about The Father’s business as we live out our salvation and make a mighty impact on this world for Your glory, Hallelujah! Let each one of us, grow, strong in Your Word to become the mighty men and women of God, You created us to be! In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen

Jesus, You are the Word. We exalt You. Show us how to help engage the world with You, the Word made flesh beginning with our children and grandchildren. Those who are closest tonus seem to be the ones who listen the least to the words we want to share – especially if it is Your Word. It’s as if they are running away from us because we are faithful. I pray for my loved ones: Brian, Jenna, Greg, Christina, Owen, Kaitlyn, Gavin, Aviana, George, Kira, Ellina, Katrina, Camden. Bring them into close, faithful relationship with You. It is not in my power to do it! We need You and Your truth!Through Jesus and because of Jesus and in His name. Amen.
