I Prayed have prayed
Father God, we thank you that we can bring your power, peace and authority to the atmosphere around us. Let us remember to speak it!
Reading Time: 2 minutes

Today I was in prayer, and have been over the shootings that happened this past weekend. I have been feeling what I can only describe as anxiety and worry. I do not suffer from anxiety, to be clear. I believe that [what] I am feeling [is] in the spiritual realm. This morning in prayer I thought of Mark 4 when Jesus calms the storm and says,” peace, be still.” I felt to pray that into the atmosphere–I am speaking directly to the spiritual storm that’s causing fear, panic, & anxiety.

Today I was running errands in town when I received a prayer request for our church prayer group, that there was a possible shooting situation at an HEB [store] in San Antonio. That is my city. I was walking into a Wal-Mart as I received this message. The Lord brought this scripture to my mind from Matthew 10, I believe, [and] also Luke 10:5-7. Jesus is sending his disciples out and he says, “whenever you enter a place, say peace to this house, if they welcome you, let your peace rest upon it.” I felt God was telling me/us, believers “You carry the peace of God just like the disciples did. When you go out, speak and release the peace of God wherever you’re at.” So that’s what I did.

I had a choice walking into Walmart, be fearful, or stand in the authority given to me. San Antonio Texas is my city, Texas is my state, I choose to walk in the authority given to me by Jesus. So, I share this to encourage my brothers and sisters in Christ. Do not bow to fear or manipulation. Do not partner with fear, anxiety or anything that would make you doubt what God has already promised us for our cities, and for our nation. Go in the name of Jesus and release the peace of God wherever you go.

God has taught me over the years that our only ‘safe place’ is in Him. That does not mean we are guaranteed a long life, and that everything will be roses. Sometimes our ‘healing’ is Heavenly. We will have pain, trials and tribulation. God is still in charge of the outcome. He has taught me that even our trials are gifts and He is shaping us into who He wants us to be. Thank you Lord for your Love and Wisdom.

Once we have accepted Jesus into our lives, God sees Jesus when he looks at us. We are his hands, feet and light in this world so wherever you go speak “peace in this house.”

The Holy Spirit caused me to decide to make loving intentional connections with my family. I called each of them and simply said the truth that I had just heard about all the tragedies and that it felt like since we were once again evidentially living in the Wild West I wanted to call each one and tell them with my voice not a text that I love them. One of them and I had had a couple of polarized moments recently and were able to talk about them and laugh. I’m telling you fear has no place in my life by the blood of my savior Jesus Christ. Make positive efforts and connections intentionally and let God the King be your motive for doing that and you don’t have to beat anyone over the head with a thick book they will recognize love when they feel and see it. Song of Songs
Love is as strong as death …many waters cannot quench love …if a man gave all Hhis possessions for love it would be utterly despised. Gods love is a gift to be shared

Thank you, Gloria and Carrie. Unfortunately, too often many of us need to be reminded of those people/situations IN OUR OWN LIVES where we have allowed the lies of the defeated foe to separate us from walking in Truth. As i was reading your response, Carrie, Holy Spirit convinced me that i need to seek reconciliation in a family relationship and to see that much of my own “discontent” or taking offense is because i have not chosen to walk in “deadness” to the old, unredeemed self. When i choose to walk in TRUTH of the newness of life in Christ, then i am truly free, truly alive and truly LOVE in motion! Thank you, both again, for this gentle reminder. And i thank YOU, FATHER GOD that You are always turning the Body’s focus to walk…2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; 3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as [we] are called in one hope of [our] calling; 5 One LORD, one faith, one baptism, 6 One GOD and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in [us] all.[Ephesians 4:2-5] Also Father, we thank You for continually empowering us to … stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; 28 And in nothing terrified by [our] adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to [us] of salvation, and that of [and from… YOU]! [Philippians 1:27, 28]

Lord, please confuse the strategy of the demonic realm fueling shootings. Make one lie prove another wrong until they kill each other and fall to the ground, in Jesus name. Amen.

Christians today need to cast out demons as the disciples were told to do by Jesus (Mark 3:15).

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” (Proverbs 18:21) I’m learning how true and how important that proverb is; along with Jesus’ words in Luke 6:45: “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” And Mark 11:23: “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” Dear Father, please help me to speak life and peace, in Jesus’ name. AMEN.

I’ve been praying exactly that, using the powerful word “shalom” over the situation with Iran since they’ve started taking ships from other nations. Excellent article. I’ll follow this timely admonition to carry peace. Lord help me to remember wherever I go.

This is right on. Both sides politically are not, as far as I can see, making any inroads with each other. But speaking peace “Peace, be still!”, are words from the heart of Jesus. I spoke over my friend, Susan, with just these words as she was experiencing jaw pain, and she was immediately healed. We had sensed that this pain was coming from darkness. So…though I very, very seldom leave comments, I wanted to put my amen on this

I agree with my sister. Where the presence of the Lord there is peace. We as his believers are his disciples to declare peace wherever we go. Jesus gave us the authority in His name.

Thank you for reminding us.

Heavenly Father, My heart is to know that Christian teachers in the public schools carry the Holy Spirit into the classroom every time they enter it! They have holy boldness to cast out the evil one, to speak truth, and to be protected from the wiles of the enemy, and the fear of speaking the truth. May today, and everyday this year, we pray for those who are teaching the children in the schools to be a witness for Jesus and to walk in peace and blessings from the Lord when they enter their schools and classrooms. May we as believers commit to pray daily for those we know who are making a daily impact on our communities through their interaction with the children in our communities, families and the staff and faculty that they work with. We ask all these things through the power of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Amen! I pray regularly, protection, wisdom, boldness of Christian teachers in my area, that they will pray over their students each day. Will add that they and any Christians on campuses will speak peace and blessing over those schools, from preschool to college, tech schools, etc. Great word! Thank you!

I too prayed yesterday as went into Walmart in Charlotte NC . I will not allow fear of this present world to cripple me in fear. I shall continue to walk by faith and not by sight. However applying Godly Wisdom not being ignorant of Satan schemes, we must be aware of our surroundings staying off our cellphone and other devices that is taking our attention away which keeps us off focus.

Satan wants nothing more than to paralyze believers with fear and anxiety. How can we share the peace of Jesus when our own spirits are fearful and discouraged? Thank you for this timely reminder, Gloria. I receive it, and will trust the Lord to remind me of His love and peace in my heart that I can speak to the spiritual warfare we are in and share with others. Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world! Bless you!
