(Editor’s note: The changes in the Virginia government, with an extremely liberal governor and Democrat-controlled legislature, promise to be noteworthy. Gun control was one of the first things mentioned by the new leaders of IFA’s home state.)
Democratic lawmakers on Capitol Hill say local police who do not enforce gun control measures likely to pass in Virginia should face prosecution and even threats of the National Guard.
After November’s Virginia Legislature elections that led to Democrats taking control of both chambers, the gun control legislation proposed by some Democrats moved forward, including universal background checks, an “assault weapons” ban, and a red flag law.
Legal firearm owners in the state, however, joined with their sheriffs to form Second Amendment sanctuary counties, which declare the authorities in these municipalities uphold the Second Amendment in the face of any gun control measure passed by Richmond.
Over 75 counties in Virginia have so far adopted such Second Amendment sanctuary resolutions in the commonwealth, the latest being Spotsylvania County. The board of supervisors voted unanimously to approve a resolution declaring that county police will not enforce state-level gun laws that violate Second Amendment rights.
Virginia Democratic officials, however, already say local law enforcement supporting these resolutions will face consequences if they do not carry out any law the state Legislature passes.
“I would hope they either resign in good conscience, because they cannot uphold the law which they are sworn to uphold, or they’re prosecuted for failure to fulfill their oath,” Democratic Virginia Rep. Gerry Connolly told the Washington Examiner of local county police who may refuse to enforce future gun control measures. “The law is the law. If that becomes the law, you don’t have a choice, not if you’re a sworn officer of the law.”
“They certainly risk funding, because if the sheriff’s department is not going to enforce the law, they’re going to lose money. The counties’ attorneys offices are not going to have the money to prosecute because their prosecutions are going to go down,” he said.
McEachin also noted that Democratic Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam could call the National Guard, if necessary.
“And ultimately, I’m not the governor, but the governor may have to nationalize the National Guard to enforce the law,” he said. “That’s his call, because I don’t know how serious these counties are and how severe the violations of law will be. But that’s obviously an option he has.”
Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring blamed the numerous Second Amendment resolutions in the state on the “gun lobby” as a tactic to frighten state residents.
“The resolutions that are being passed are being ginned up by the gun lobby to try to scare people. What we’re talking about here are laws that will make our communities and our streets safer,” Herring told CBS 6.
“So, when Virginia passes these gun safety laws that they will be followed, they will be enforced,” he added.

Due to public “education,” the citizenry is not informed.
America’s founding documents forms the basis of our government. The 2nd Amendment trumps State law. Let them call in the National Guard. A Civil War has been brewing & the citizenry had better wake up. Without the 2nd Amendment, there are no other rights.
As for the shallow argument that the citizenry voted in these far-left politicians, they did not vote in politicians to break the law.
Father, as voters in Bedford County Virginia, we ask that you open the eyes of the citizenry & prayerfully call them to arms in accordance with Your will. We know that these are the natural consequences of people abandoning & falling away from you so we cry out to You for Your justice. Our ungodly leaders are deliberately turning law-abiding citizens into criminals. We pray that You protect us from these evil leaders & turn their lawlessness back onto their own heads. Remove them from office & replace them with Godly evangelicals. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
These Virginia state legislators did not just walk into their ruling offices and say,”I am the governor, senator…..” They were voted in by the Virginia people. Or were they NOT voted in by the Virginia people NOT taking time to VOTE! I, like others who pray for our nation do not want to see this kind of evil leaderships rule, however our God & Father, our Lord and King, does not rule by over riding the will of the people. The people must chose who they will serve and in doing so will either act on their right to vote given by God when He formed this nation with the submissive will that chose to serve Him by our founding fathers. The principal…you don’t work, you don’t eat…holds just as much weight here…you don’t vote, you have no say in who governs you.” Our repentance and plea to our/the Almighty should be “Wake Up Virginia! Serve the only one and true God His way!”
Its sad when you have to tell people to vote especially when issues like this pass because of non voters.
That’s very interesting, sir. God, in His rule, does not overrule the will of the People? Tell me more about this democratic God you serve. Did you vote Him into His office? Could you vote Him out? Could you, through an election, get Him to change one of His policies if you did not approve of it? Please go on.
For the record, I am a gun owner and I have seven concealed carry permits, and am legal to carry in 39 states. I’m Christian, conservative, support gun rights… But I just had to point out that what you said about God is heresy and lunacy.

Yes. This is a major part of this whole mess. Bloomberg and Holder have been busy at work post-Obama. Virginia is their first test case and what happens there will determine what happens in other states, as well.
Father God, in the beginning, when the forefathers of the United States were at the shoreline of Virginia, they dedicated this nation to you, planted a cross at Virginia Beach, and were sincere and God-fearing. Now they have gone astray. The governor has no respect for life! The leadership has gone amuck. Please Lord, may this election clean up the governing force of Virginia so the State can be representative of your values. Virginia needs your guidance so they can get back on track. In this not a dog for dinner mob rule democracy; we are a constitutional republic were everyone should have a say, not just the large cities full of illegals in many cases. each county should vote and then the sheriff [elected official], should take that one vote to the legislature, so each county has a say in running the state.
Father! Lord, we need You. We repent of being so far away from You. We repent of allowing the anti Christ to remove You, remove prayer, remove Your commands from our schools,govt and public square. Ph Father how we need to remember the history of this great nation, church history and how we need to learn of the grit, the faith and the fight that You placed in the men and women that gave their lives in the Revolutionary war and the civil war.

Illegal immigration, voter fraud, George Soros funding, planned parenthood funding? Eric Holdrr and gerrymandering, transgender agenda. Here In Arlington there were only Dems on the ballot and independents. We need to clean up voter fraud as Georgia is now doing. Prosecute George Soros. Support the constitution; get rid of judges who use the law for evil purposes. We need to sell the governors mansion to pay off debt and move the governor and luitenant Governor into a trailer in w va that they pay for , break the ridiculous windmill contact with Belgium so we can lower the cost of electricity and praise God for the young. National guardsman who said no, you can’t take away my constitutional rights. As for more funding for the prison system, that can be accomplished by stop buying lamb chops for Muslims in prison.

Sen Ebbe is a gay rights advocate and afraid of The God of Abraham Issac and Jacob, Jesus the Christ. Left is not left, it is anti Christ. The people who are in authority in Va have no authority from God, They are misusing their power and authority to kill maim and destroy. They are lawless and call it law. They are evil wicked and cruel. Look no further than the members of the Yale skull and bones association. And please stay away from vaccines, wicked transgender big pharma. Protect our children!
Citizens of Virginia elected a governor who during the campaign stated, for all the world to hear, that a newborn baby should be allowed to lay there and die – in accordance with the wishes of the parent(s). Evil doesn’t get any worse than that. We can expect all kinds of evil to come during his time in office. Those who stayed home during that election should repent. This is a another shining example of what the silent majority has allowed. Evil advances while we are sleeping. We reap what we sow. God forgive us, God help us.

The same “lawful” standards should be applied to the Sanctuary Cities protecting and providing citizen rights to illegals. May the order, justice and courts of Heaven prevail and be established within the hearts of men on earth
