Lord I pray we can see the world through Your perspective, with a renewed mind. Help us to stand on Your Word alone and be a light to the darkness.

On the threshold of my 70th birthday alongside of my 50th spiritual birthday, I sing  with believers worldwide celebrating God’s “Amazing Grace.”

“Through many dangers, toils and snares we have already come. T’was grace that brought us safe thus far and grace will lead us home.”

When we genuinely repent and put our total trust in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the Cross, the conversion experience supernaturally transitions us from death to life, all sins are forgiven, we’re adopted into God’s forever family, declared justified (just as if we’ve never sinned!) and are catapulted into the sanctifying process of being conformed to His Image.  He was punished so we could be pardoned and enjoy new life as born-again Christians!

In the Book of Romans, Paul’s masterpiece on salvation, he spends 11 chapters explaining this divinely-inspired revelation. In chapter 12 he pivots, calling us to respond by presenting ourselves to God and then embrace the priority of developing a biblical worldview to experience the fullness of God’s beautiful plan for our lives.

“Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind so that you may prove what is the good, acceptable and perfect will of God” (Rom. 12:2).

Developing the Divine Perspective

Ten blind people feeling a different part of an elephant will describe him differently because of one thing – perspective.

God gifted each one of us with a beautiful mind but once we are converted it is absolutely essential that we allow Him to shape our perspectives according to His will and not the ways of the world.

Surveys reveal that in America 76% of millennials believe that living together/cohabitation is acceptable. Multitudes of young professing Christians who do not have a biblically informed perspective on God’s design for singles and sexuality embrace this worldview. They are in serious deception and God calls them to repent for His glory and their good.

Contrary to what our culture overwhelmingly condones, scripture states without equivocation, “And do not let sexual immorality, or any impurity, or greed be named among you, as these are not proper among saints… For this you know, that no sexually immoral or impure person, or one who is greedy, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God” (Eph.5:3,5).

Bottom line: it’s all a matter of our worldview and aligning with the will of God in every area of life to avert shipwreck and stay on the right track to a peaceful and purposeful life.

My heart aches watching the trajectory of once-professing Christian Miley Cyrus as she continues her downward spiral. I pray for her before it’s too late. How tragic that  she plunged even further recently as she ended her marriage after less than a year and now is experimenting with a lesbian relationship.

My $24.5 Million Dollar Lawsuit

Decades ago I made a very serious error and experienced one of the most traumatic episodes of my life. Speaking to a large crowd of young people, I repeated misinformation passed on to me from a nationally known leader who’d heard the misinformation from an international Christian leader.

Communicating erroneously that the author of the #1 bestselling book in America had taken his life catapulted me into a massive lawsuit with unbelievable legal fees and a horrific ordeal that lasted 4 years. The story was covered in a two page spread in People magazine and Charisma magazine featured me on their cover.

A settlement was eventually reached and forgiveness extended from a painful lesson I’ll never forget.

Everything stemmed from a statement passed on to me from a wrong perspective that I naively passed on, bringing the “wrath of Khan” upon me and the other defendants.

Erroneous thinking has consequences. Sinful behavior brings suffering, maybe not immediately, but inevitably.

A Correct Perspective is Critical

Contrary to what our culture propagates concerning truth being subjective for each to interpret as one feels, the Bible teaches absolute truth and of that we can be absolutely certain! Success and stability in life comes from embracing maxims such as these:

1. Truth exists and is knowable.

2. Truth upheld brings blessings.

3. Truth disregarded brings consequences.

Ministering in 31 nations and across America for decades, I am more convinced than ever that embracing a biblically informed worldview of “true truth” brings “joy unspeakable” (1Pet.1:8) and “abundant life”(Jn.10:10) as Jesus promised to obedient followers.

Deception Destroys

In a previous election season, a charming and charismatic presidential candidate was drawing large crowds and being hailed as the next John F. Kennedy in American politics. As his campaign picked up momentum, his presidential ambitions came to a screeching halt from the revelation that he committed adultery, repeatedly lied about it, all the while his wife was battling inoperable cancer.

According to Newsweek magazine (8/25/08) the other woman had a belief systems ( a worldview upon which she built her life) completely contrary to scripture and very bizarre to say the least.

The woman was a divorced, free-spirited party girl steeped in New Age spirituality. She was a “firm believer in the power of truth” (which truth?) and “fiercely devoted to astrology.” She also believed (based on what?) that she led “many lives” because “souls enter and escape a field of consciousness.” Finally, she and another fellow shared a “genius” idea for a TV show about “women who help men get out of failing marriages by having affairs with them.”

What were the results of this worldview? Sadly, it led to tragic scandal; destruction of a marriage; an illegitimate child; a devastated family; a destroyed reputation and the end of a presidential campaign and political career.

The politician’s wife died of cancer in the midst of the episode. In a recent interview the woman admitted that she and her former flame are “no longer a couple.” Erroneous thinking and embracing a worldview contrary to scripture brings consequences; for many it leads to addictions, health problems and even premature death or suicide.

  1. It’s been said that many church buildings have become the “basket” in which we hide the candle. We’re happy and going to Heaven while the world continues on their way to hell. Many Christians have also become victims to the religion of “self” spoken about in (2 Timothy 3:1-5), which ends with “having a form of godliness, but denying the power of God -(to change their ungodly ways.) *Modern humanistic psychology is the promoter of “self-ism in American society today, and goes completely against God’s Word of dying to ourselves. I can’t figure out how Christianity which is faith based can mix with atheistic humanism which is “self” based on loving and, esteeming your-self over others ?
I truly believe the LORD=(property owner) did not save us so He could walk with us in our sins. He saved us so we could walk with Him in fellowship out of our sinful ways.
The LORD helped me to judge all preaching, teaching, etc. on Jesus’ character of Humility, Simplicity, Purity, Love and Life = Truth. Anyone who takes away from any of those are not preaching about the real Jesus of the Bible. We are in perilous times, and we need the real Jesus Christ to get us through this deception we are facing. Read your Bible often and pray every 30 minutes. Maranatha = our LORD comes!

  2. Holy God, worthy of ALL praise and worship and honor, may many come to You repenting of sin, willing to allow Your Spirit to convict besetting sin of pride, selfishness and unbelief.
Father, as I listened to a sermon this past week where a 40 yr old survey of 7,441 protestant preachers revealed 3/4 no longer believed 3 basic fundamentals of Christianity.
1, the Bible is the inspired Word of God
2, Jesus is the Son of God
3, the physical resurrection of Jesus
Lord, I pray for all believers to check the church of which they are members, and if these truths are not held there by the preacher. Deacons or elders, i pray they would drop to their knees to seek Your wisdom and desire for them to join bible believing churches which teach and preach expositionally Your Word. Lord the American gospel has become infected with a cancer of unrepentant sin, self deception and flagrant lies about the holiness of out Creator.
We ask in Jesus name for You to create an awakening in Your church, a stirring in the hearts of those committed to You, a fire of zealousness for Your truths and declare it boldly with conviction

  3. After clicking the “Bullseye” link and watching the first video, I am sickened with conviction at my lack of boldness and obedience to be a witness for Jesus. The church in America, of which I am a part, has allowed Satan’s agenda and kingdom to grow. We are so afraid of offending” others that we do nothing but hide in our safe churches. Today I repent. Jesus, give me boldness, wisdom and the humility needed to speak the truth in love so You can save them!

  4. Lord may we develop a closer relationship with You based on the Bible and prayer. May Your word get into our hearts and minds and inspire us to speak to You in heartfelt prayer. Lord pur culture is getting more selfish stubborn and sinful. We need more of You and less of ourselves. Please pour out Your Spirit generously on Your people. May more people turn towards You in these dark times. I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
