US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman will lead this year’s the March of the Living on Holocaust Remembrance Day. He will be joined by the US ambassador to Germany, Richard Grenell; US Ambassador to Poland Georgette Mosbacher and Special Envoy against Anti-Semitism Alain Carr.
The March of the Living is an annual educational program that brings people from all over the world to Poland and Israel. As part of the program, various delegations of young Jews and non-Jews visit ghettos, monuments and death camps, that culminates in a march between Auschwitz and Birkenau.
After that participants continue their journey from Poland for a week of education in Israel. There they participate in Memorial Day ceremonies for the fallen Israeli soldiers and celebrate Israel’s Independence Day.
The march aims to instill in the younger generation the history of the Holocaust and instill in them values of tolerance, acceptance of others, and mutual accountability.
Since the first parade in 1988, more than 250,000 participants from 52 countries have marched the 3.2 kilometers between Auschwitz and Birkenau in memory of those who died in the Holocaust…. (Read more… (Excerpt from Jol Staff artcle on Jerusalem Online)

Lord, bless this event and let people understand what the Holocaust was. Further, let them see the parallel with the holocaust of abortion, millions killed with the approval of society. We think we have learned so much from history but until we make Your Word the touchstone for our understanding, we will repeat our sins in different forms. The truth is that Satan learns. The mass imprisonment, enslavement, starvation and murder of Jews appalled us after the war, so Satan duped us into sanitized individual killings that left few witnesses. Lord, lift up the Jewish people as they remember this attempted annihilation of them, Your chosen people, and bring them to Jesus. Let them reflect on why Jesus said,
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that kills the prophets, and stones them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!” (Matthew 23:37)
Bless Israel, the still disputed sanctuary for the Jewish people, and bless the evangelists who bring the Gospel to them.
