President Trump said he hopes to have the country reopened in just over two weeks, a timeline that is dramatically sooner than what many public-health experts have recommended to help contain the coronavirus pandemic.
“I would love to have the country opened up and just raring to go by Easter,” Mr. Trump said on a Fox News town hall filmed in the White House Rose Garden on Tuesday. Easter falls on April 12.
He said that once the 15-day period in which the government has urged Americans to practice social distancing ends next week, “we’ll stay a little bit longer than that” but that he wants the effective shutdown of the country to end “very soon.”
For days, the president and his aides have been discussing easing social-distancing guidelines as early as next week. The president has been pushed by advisers and business leaders to boost an economy beset by deepening job losses nationwide, people familiar with the discussions said. Other aides, particularly public-health advisers, have cautioned Mr. Trump against easing the guidelines, warning the measures remain necessary.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said in an interview on NBC on Friday that it would be at least several weeks before the coronavirus outbreak in the U.S. begins to abate. “I cannot see that all of a sudden, next week or two weeks from now it’s going to be over,” he said. “I don’t think there’s a chance of that. I think it’s going to be several weeks.”
The social-distancing guidelines instructed all Americans to avoid nonessential travel, sit-down restaurants and gatherings of more than 10 people, among other steps.
“You can destroy a country this way, by closing it down,” Mr. Trump said on Tuesday. “I gave it two weeks…and we’ll assess at that time, and we’ll give it some more time if we need any more time. But we have to open this country up.” He predicted that if the shutdown continues, the economy could descend into a massive recession, which he said could be accompanied by a marked uptick in depression. “You’re going to have suicides by the thousands” he said.
Even if the president relaxes federal guidelines, Americans would still be subject to restrictions that governors and mayors nationwide have rolled out, shutting schools and many retail businesses.

The earth is the LORD’s and the fullness thereof; the world and they that dwell therein. For he hath founded it upon the seas and established it upon the floods.(Psalm 24:1-2). Jesus told the woman at the well, “Woman, believe me, the hour cometh when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:21, 23) The TRUE CHURCH is made up of BELIEVERS IN JESUS CHRIST. It does not matter WHERE, but HOW we worship the Lord. Easter Sunday should be EVERYDAY in the life of EVERY BELIEVER. IN THE BEGINNING GOD.
To me several people unaware of what they are doing are speaking death instead of life. Saying opening up the economy in 2 weeks is too soon. They are driven by fear and selfish greed. Trump has vision and faith and is a believer. He speaks life. I also believe we could open up the country and it wouldn’t be because of ignorance but trust in God. Without faith its impossible to please Him. We must overcome with our spiritual weapons, not fear and mammon spirit as you know, or we could be defeated if we wait. Our prayers are making a difference. We don’t want the reverse to happen – that companies lean on the government to bail them out for months they do nothing or at least not what they should be doing during this prolonged period as the economy tanks-with doors closed (which would be typical of how the world guided by the gods of this world work – rather collect a check) which would bankrupt our country. It is a perfect excuse to prolong this crisis which the church is called to help stop through prayers partnered with the Lord Almighty. Lets keep praying for Gods best will and as we have so far believe Him to work and answer our crys. Most importantly Many souls be won to Him during this time – and values turned as when our country was formed on His principles.
Lord we exalt You as our Advocate Provider and Sovereign God and Ruler. You know best and we need Your involvement in this decision that will help guide Trump to make.
We ask for your wisdom so as not to put people in harms way if the economy is opened up this soon God. That You will determine this choice he makes along with his staff. We cover it with the blood of Jesus and with our faith together believe you will turn the heart of this leader Cyrus in the way it should go. President Trump will not be guided by fear or the spirit of mammon or of the antichrist spirits that try to influence the church. Thank you Lord for your help grace and provision as you sift the church and refine us to be spotless and pleasing to You. In Jesus Name Amen

My heart is heavy for all the people in the world who are suffering those who are sick and those who have lost loved ones and those who are in fear. Lord because of the faith I have in Jesus Christ in your word and then you’re a great friend I trust for a good outcome to all this. I ask that you would continue to be with President Trump and give him the wisdom and the knowledge that only you truly know of all things present and future that you would guide him to do the right things. The days are dark and I believe we are truly in in times and I believe so I know not the day or the hour I do believe that Jesus is at the door waiting for you to tell him go get your children. I believe you were born for such a time as this to pray in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ and that you father who created all creation do not desire for any to be lost and yet some will be. But I for one in here to be part of your army to do what you and Paul and me to do to usher in the return of your son and my Lord Jesus Christ. I know the hours late and we will be ruptured out according to your word before the battle of Armageddon so I do not have fear for my life but I am concerned for those who are lost and backslidden and have been deceived by the enemy Lord let your mighty power and glory be shown in these days of darkness. And how are the president and your followers your Remington. who desire to do your will and bring your kingdom to Bear. Let us shine brightly to glorify your name in to be used to bring those that are asleep into your presents that they may wake up and be part of the N time revival as we have never seen before. I agree with Mr. President. Lord God, give us wisdom and understanding. Please deliver us from this disease in Jesus Name. I see something far worst than COVID-19 coming on the horizon if we continue in this state of fear and extreme caution. Lord, I pray that we will be aware and our leaders will make wise decisions based on true facts. I pray any enemy of the US will be stopped and defeated.I pray that any traps set against the US and our government officials or citizens will be exposed and avoided.
