The Church of America is suffering from double vision. There are two different interpretations of reality being promoted today causing confusion, division, and an inability to move forward. Some are perceiving current issues from a natural perspective and human reasoning, while others are looking to an unseen realm for clarity. The very thing that should set us apart as “Spirit-filled” believers is that we see things from a different vantage point. We do not judge by outward appearances or natural instinct. We judge by the Spirit; a higher reality that filters out the flesh and rightly interprets through heaven’s eyes.

The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned (1 Corinthians 2:14 ESV).

If we are to have clear vision for this coming year and all that pertains to the state our nation, we must examine our perceptions to see if they are being filtered properly. We must determine if our reality lines up with heaven’s agenda. Ultimately, we are not in a war of political parties or social injustices. We are in a war between hell’s deception and heaven’s rule. We are not just dealing with corrupt officials or globalist agendas. We are dealing with wicked rulers in high places that are hypnotizing the populace into a dream state that is leading us right into a nightmare. Until we see the demonic warlord that is lurking in the shadows, our vision will be blurry, and we will misread the signs of the times.

When the prophets of old would be visited by heaven, one of the first questions they would be asked was, “What do you see?” (see Ezekiel 40:4, Zechariah 5:5, Jeremiah 1:11, Amos 7:8). What they saw was critical to the message they were to carry. If their perceptions were not correct, the message would fail. If their interpretations were off, their entire assignment would miss the mark. Before they could fulfill their purpose, they had to see things according to the Spirit of God. Their spiritual perception had to be examined before releasing them to their commission. Before we as the Church can fulfill our commission, we must have our spiritual eyes tested and examined.

In the New Testament, Peter was given a vision to see God’s invitation to the Gentiles (see Acts 10:10). Though he was a God-fearing Jew, his belief system limited his ability to see by the Spirit and understand heaven’s greater priorities in extending salvation to those he deemed unworthy. His first reaction was to be offended that such a partnership could ever occur. It wasn’t until he saw by the Spirit that Peter was able to embrace this “new thing” that God was doing and join in this supernatural multiplication of the Kingdom.

In like manner today, the biggest hindrance people have in seeing things by the Spirit is PERSONAL OR CORPORATE OFFENSE. Whether it’s due to our racial or cultural bias, our religious or theological framework, or our personal preference, we are all prone to offense when presented with something outside our comfort zone or boundaries of religious propriety and expectations.

Before Pentecost, it was Peter, again, who became offended when Jesus suggested that He must suffer and die in order to fulfill His Father’s will. Believing that Jesus was destined to greatness as a Jewish leader, Peter challenged Him for even considering such a thing. Imagine his surprise when Jesus not only rebuked him but exposed the demonic source of his offense: Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me. For you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men (see Matthew 16:22-23). Though Peter’s intention may have been noble, his spiritual perception was totally off. His personal need for validation and misplaced expectation of Jesus’ mission gave room for the enemy to convince him of an alternate reality. Little did he know how he was playing right into the enemy’s playbook.

This is the reality today. Many believers cannot perceive things rightly because we see through the eyes of flesh and not through the eyes of the Spirit. Why is that? For some, there are yet unresolved wounds from the past that cause them to be spiritually near-sighted and unable to see beyond their own pain. For others, there is a need for justice from unsettled issues, either personally or corporately, that blinds them to any greater plan beyond their own cause. For others, like Peter, they don’t want to consider the personal cost or sacrifice that may be needed to fulfill a much higher purpose. Like having cataracts, these offenses get in the way of our vision and must be removed before our sight can be restored.

If we want to see clearly by the Spirit, we must get rid of any personal or corporate offense. We must lay down any personal cause, concern, or bias that limits our vision and opens the door to a counterfeit truth. God’s ways are not our ways and His methods are not always conventional. He will do whatever it takes to clear our hearts and minds so that we can see a heavenly plan that goes far beyond our limited field of vision.

He will be a holy place; for both Israel and Judah he will be a stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall. And for the people of Jerusalem he will be a trap and a snare. Many of them will stumble; they will fall and be broken, they will be snared and captured. (Isaiah 8:14-15 NIV)

There is a call from heaven to SEE clearly and discern rightly. It will not come by scrolling through Facebook or reading the Wall Street Journal. It will not get better by looking for others who support our soap box causes or pet doctrines. Our spiritual eyesight will only clear up when we look into His Word, set our gaze on Him, and discern by the Spirit. It will sharpen by spending time in His presence and surrendering our desires for His, keeping our hearts free from any offense or need for vindication. As we examine our motives and determine to serve His purposes alone, we will find our vision expanded and our clarity increased.

May the coming of 2020 bring our corporate vision into synchronization with the purposes of heaven. May the clarity of our cause become a sharpened tool in the hands of God to proclaim the message He has given us. And may our partnership with His Spirit produce one voice, one sound, and one hope, for the glory of His name. Amen.

  1. I notice that the IFA has a Vision list of 12 statements. 11 statements include a Bible reference to support that vision. But one statement does NOT have any Bible reference; indeed it is not biblical. That statement says, “The highest form of government is a constitutional republic led by God-fearing leaders placed in power by a moral society led by an effective Church.” It is on this very America-centric stance that the IFA goes off the rails and becomes unbiblical. A theology that says that America is somehow uniquely Christian has, over time become USA-worshiping idolatry and decays into promotion of Trump as somehow “Christian”. Yes, the Body of Christ in the USA needs a clear vision. The first step is recognizing that we are Christians first, part of an eternal kingdom (Hebrews 11:13-16), and that “America first” is idolatry.

  2. This message is truly from The Throne Room! So, so powerful! I pray many take this message and study the “words” The heart is where the Spirit (birth place of words) Jesus “opened the eyes of understanding” of his disciples after being with him three years. Luke 24:44-49. The church has not had spiritual teachers to really instruct by the Spirit. Thank you we need this message to reach every believer!

  3. Yes , I agree with you . We are so focused on what man wants and not God .
I had a dream years ago and it was precisely about this and the state we are in and what is going to become .
In my dream my husband and I were driving down the freeway and I looked up in the sky and what I saw was the sun and the shadow was coming over the sun . It was an eclipse of the sun . When it was completed. there was a belt around it and a lock . I heard a click and then it fell to the earth . When it fell it started to open slowly. We pulled over to see what it was . It was very strange . The word perplexity came to me in my dream . We got scared and got back into the car and continued on the freeway . We were going further and then suddenly we ended on an offramp and went underground . There were people everywhere and they were wondering what they were doing there . I looked around and I had a platter on my hands with mercury and black junk on it. They had told us to ho around and pass it out to the people . There was a second level and they were standing there watching us . I can only see the mercury , so I was going around and whispering don’t take it , its poisonous. My sister in law and I were trying to warn the people. I devised a plan to escape but no one wanted to listen , so I tried by myself. They captured me and the next thing I knew I was on a child’s playground rocking back and forth wandering when the Lord was coming . My brother walked up to me and said , ” The Lord is coming soon .” I woke up and The Lord gave me Luke 21 and to my surprise it lined up with my dream . It was 14 years ago I had this dream .
I have been warning people about this , but they think , Oh , God would never allow that to happen . We are asleep and not reading clearly His word. In Matthew 24:9 Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you , and you will be hated by all nations for My names sake . 10 and many will be offended. will betray one another. and will hate one another .
Luke 21:12 But before all these things they will lay there hands on you and persecute you. delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before king’s and rulers for My names sake .
Jesus is coming back for a church without a spot or wrinkle. We need to be the church and humble ourselves before God and let Him clean us up 2 Chronicles 7:14-15

    1. Rene, from what I can tell, you seem to say with your dream that Wanda is indicating doom for the next election. I don’t think that’s what Wanda is saying. I think she’s saying that we need God’s heart and perspective to know how to pray effectively and not let our flesh get in the way. Whatever happens in the election.

  4. Oh Holy Father, omnisceint and omnipresent, full of love and mercy, wrath and kindness. Lord, it is by Your divine breath that You have revealed Yourself in sacred scripture and gave us instruction to settle these temporal and situational conflicts arising in ethics, moral standards and wavering claims of individual ‘truths’. Father natural man suppresses Your truth and exchanges for a lie, giving themselves over to idolatry and we have hearts that above all things is deceitful. Lord, I pray for the church, Your church to come together seeking first the Kingdom of God, faithfully reading Your Word for our daily bread, never ceasing to pray biblical prayers just as the prophets prayed, study deeply and fast according to Your calling, so that by doing these things we may see things with our Jesus goggles on.
Father let us be mindful of following wolves in sheeps clothing preaching motivational & unbiblical sermons from the pulpit. Lord, would You give us discerning ears and feet willing to flee from congregations sold out to social justice topics of today. Lord God, You are our sole authority, You are our head, You Created the heavens and the Earth and You created man in Your image, we did not evolve, and neither has Your truths evolved into something that makes us comfortable in our sin. Father, You for Your church to repent and may that begin with each of us here today and may it have a ripple effect to our families, and our church families. Father we are One Nation Under God and there are many that want to RIP apart any documents that reference Your truths and the inalienable rights which come from them. Father, we thank You for Jesus, Your Son, His death that atoned for our sins, and for His physical resurrection. Without, we would be destined to hell as all fallen men are.
Lord, remove the planks from our own eyes that we may be a seeing people, a seeking people and a people worthy of Your calling. In Jesus name I pray for a supernatural awakening of which we agree that absolute and irrefutable authority comes from You. May it begin today, and may those You chose be willing to accept their new assignments as the watchmen and to prophess Your warnings to our nation. Thank You Lord You hear our prayers. Amen

  5. Jesus you are the light of the world. Let your light shine on us to see clearly. That the truth will set us free. Let truth March on. Glory glory hallelujah His truth is marching on. Amen yes Lord!!

  6. Yes. Amen. I’m seeking for clarity of sight as well as hearing. Spiritually and physically. This word agreed with a prayer call I am listening to as they pray for our nation. All these responses are so great. There are more of us than is seen. And heard. But God hears and is responding quickly. We are better together. Yah!!We may face a shaking but in the process we are being awakened. For that great Awakening we are all praying for. A huge harvest fir the Kingdom of God

  7. 💯% they are not ready for what’s coming! We need to pray for right perception, eyes to see and hears to hear! We are in serious spiritual war. The gates of hell’s deception Vs heaven’s Kingdom come. Our Christian President and patriots are winning this fight! As blood bought saints of God We must pray. Amen

  8. Amen Wanda. You hit the mark. Dear Lord, I pray for all believers to yield to the callings of the Holy Spirit. Let us not be discouraged when our circumstances turn for the worse. Give us faith to know that You chastise those You love, and that facing the failures in our life are the acts that produce Spiritual maturity and open our eyes to see as God sees. Give us courage to suffer when that is Your will. May we all focus on the important things that God wants us to do according to the talents and gifts he has given each one of us. Holy Spirit, clean our hearts, heal our wounds, help us grow into effective saints, understanding all the power given to us through your Spirit. Show us the way to use Your gifts of the Spirit to further Your kingdom. With clarity of mind and unity in the Spirit may we see the current political and social upheaval as You see it. Help us filter out all the false narratives and endless chatter that can so consume us and waste our time.
Lord I pray that the spirits of perversion, deception, and witchcraft be bound and cast into the pit of hell whence they came. Remove their influence over our media, our government, our educational system, our entertainment industry, our church, and our business and financial institutions. I pray for the whole deception to be brought down in one fell swoop. May the eyes of the American people be opened to see who the true enemy is. Enough of this endless hatred for things good and love for things bad. Lord right the ship where once again we as a people can all celebrate when Your ways win and the devils way loses, When the good guys are rewarded and the bad guys are punished. Clean out the corrupt and raise up the righteous in Jesus name.

  9. Lord thank you for opening the eyes, ears and spirits of Your Church. Lord help us to be Holy Spirit filled followers of Christ. Romans 8:5-6 Lord help us depend on The Holy Spirits intercession in our weakness of not knowing what to pray in accordance to God’s will. Romans 8:26-27 Lord I repent for the many times my flesh influences my prayers and my not asking for the Holy Spirit to guide my prayer and God’s will to be accomplished. Lord open our eyes to see, our ears to hear and our Spirits to cry out to the Holy Spirit for Thy will to be done. In Jesus name. Amen

    1. Thank you so much for this prayer…I needed to hear this and repent for my fleshly fear prayers. Prayers of faith and love full of hope in victory through obedience…this is our labor to work it. Bless you

  10. Heavenly Father, Open the eyes of Your people that we might see as You see. Help us to do the things You want us to do. Father, we know satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy but Jesus came to give us life and that more abundantly. Let us not grow weary in doing good because the Bible tells us that in due season we will reap. Let Thy Kingdom come and let Thy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven. I asked these things in the precious name of Jesus. Amen
