Col 3:15

The FBI has reopened its background investigation into embattled Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, following a compromise Friday from Senate Republicans, led by Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz.

On Friday, President Donald Trump ordered the FBI to reopen its investigation of Kavanaugh, repeating Flake’s parameters that the probe should be limited in scope and take less than a week. All 51 Republican senators supported a motion to proceed with Kavanaugh’s nomination late Friday, and the vote on his confirmation will be delayed until after the FBI wraps up its investigation….

Attorney Michael Avenatti, who represents Julie Swetnick, another woman who accused Kavanaugh of inappropriate behavior during his high school years, complained Monday he had not heard from the FBI. Investigators have already talked to Deborah Ramirez, who accused Kavanaugh of exposing himself to her at a party while they were students at Yale University….

Prosecutor Rachel Mitchell, who questioned professor Christine Blasey Ford for Senate Republicans at Thursday’s hearing, released a follow-up assessment of Ford’s accusations Sunday. In her report, Mitchell emphasized that though the confirmation hearing is not a trial, she does not think “a reasonable prosecutor would bring this case based on the evidence.” Mitchell added, “A ‘he said, she said’ case is incredibly difficult to prove. But this case is even weaker than that.” She cited Ford’s inconsistent accounts of when the assault happened, memory gaps about the party or where it was located, and lack of corroboration by other witnesses.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court began its new session Monday. One justice short, the remaining eight heard courtroom arguments on an environmental issue. (Excerpts from article in WORLD)

I am believing that this Judge will keep himself close to God’s heart and always seek to please Him first . I am standing with those who agree with God’s heart and know the seasons and times and when I don’t know what to say or pray Holy Spirit speaks and prays in me so that what God wants will happen. I give HIm glory and praise for His continual faithfulness. I know that His Word says when we are intimately acquainted with Him and study to show our selves approved of Him that He works all things out for our good by giving us His very best. Even when we don’t understand we stand with HIm believing He will never lead us astray. I know that God says to protect the innocent and what is more innocent and helpless than an unborn child. In this premise I thank God for raising up those who stand with His agenda of life. Therefore I speak life to all that happens to be in agreement with His Holy Spirit and His Word. To God be the glory and praise.

Then Daniel went to his house and made the matter known to Hanani′ah, Mish′a-el, and Azari′ah, his companions, 18 and told them to seek mercy of the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that Daniel and his companions might not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.

Father, we see from your word that you will, You desire, that the innocent
not perish.

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? 6 This is he who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ, not with the water only but with the water and the blood. 7 And the Spirit is the witness, because the Spirit is the truth. 8 There are three witnesses, the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree. 9 If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; for this is the testimony of God that he has borne witness to his Son. 10 He who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. He who does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne to his Son. 11 And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who has not the Son of God has not life. 13 I write this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life. 14 And this is the confidence which we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have obtained the requests made of him.

O Father, we ask that in your mercy and by your will that you would protect and keep the innocent from perishing. You see who is innocent and you see the innocent unborn. So we ask with Thanksgiving, thanking you that we have already received what we have asked for. We receive this by faith and thank you. You are doing it. We ask this in Jesus name, that the Father be glorified in the Son.

Steven, very timely post. Our nation is being purged of corruption, crimes and corruption being exposed so that healing and righteousness can come through. Sin always brings judgment and while many of us have not been involved directly in those sins, we did not know about it or if some did, may have turned a blind eye to it. Horrible atrocities have been committed by people in high places. We bear some responsibility if we have not been praying for these things to be exposed and for truth and justice to reign. I love your bringing Ninevah to our remembrance/notice, thank you. Indeed we are modern day Ninevah. Many have been praying, some for years and decades, those prayers are being answered. As we stand in the gap for our nation and repent of our collective sins God will call up things to our remembrance to deal with and confess, so that we become a clean vessel through which God can pour out His Spirit to heal and minister and harvest souls. You have joined with many who are praying, repenting and pushing back the powers of darkness over our beloved America.

Here is what I learned, that relates to the current chaos, by listening to Bible teacher Derek Prince, who is now deceased. (I might be wrong, so if you wonder about what I share, you can probably get a second opinion by calling Derek Prince Ministries.)
According to Derek (correct me if I am mistaken), the Bible tells us how good government and bad government are used for God’s purposes. God uses bad government when his people are not obedient. Derek says that when we have bad government, God is usually trying to get the attention of His people, saying something like, “This is the government you deserve. You have not listened to Me. You have turned away from Me. This is the punishment you need to cause you to wake up and listen to Me.” The Bible text for this is in Romans 13 and in the prayers in Daniel 3 and 9 that refer to the bad government as a “just sentence” from God. The book “Trusting God” by Jerry Bridges says that, for example, the current situation is not out of God’s control; God is fully sovereign, using the current situation as a starting or intermediate point for His purposes.

So, if our country is in chaos over how the confirmation process is going, it is important to ask if part of the government is in chaos and if God has a purpose for the chaos. Abortion is murder in God’s eyes, and if part of the government supports abortion, at least part of the government is bad government.
2 Chronicles 7:14 says the ball is in our court, as Christians. Relative to good government, we are holding up the show until we turn back to God, listen more, obey more, and sin less. Relative to 2 Chronicles 7:14, we will have peace when we do our part and God gladly responds with His part.

God’s goal in punishment is that we confess our sins, repent, and ask and receive forgiveness. (You all can find other good scripture passages about this. What I found was Hebrews 12: 5-29.)
A few years ago I probably would have said, “Hey, why are you telling me to repent? Tell that to those that caused this chaos. I haven’t done anything that compares with the awful things they did. Besides, I already repented of my sins and am forgiven.” Now I would answer, “God sees that we all have blind spots. God does not want us to compare ourselves with others but to ask Him what He wants us to repent of. If God tells you that you are one of the “men who have no need of repentance” (Luke 15:7), you can still pray as in Daniel 3:26-45 or Daniel 9: 3-19. But take time to see what God says or ask a relative or church member who does not like you.”
So if God is punishing us for our sins by giving us a just sentence, hoping that we will cry out to Him and repent like the citizens of Nineveh, then would it not make sense that the punishment (of having some corruption in government) will not go away until we repent? We are more apt to listen and change when our feet are held to the fire. I hope you see the point even if I am not explaining it very well. Perhaps someone can explain it better or correct what I am saying.

God is not punishing us so that we will try harder with the strength of our own might or become frustrated and discouraged, but so that we will repent and be forgiven and bear “fruit in peace and goodness” (Hebrews 12:11). And somewhere in the process God wants to remove the corruption. Perhaps dark days are coming, but look what happened in Nineveh in response to the call: “All are to put on sackcloth and call on God with all their might; and let everyone renounce his evil behavior and the wicked things he has done. Who knows if God will not change His mind and relent,…” (Jonah 3:8,9)
May God give us the grace to humbly accept the punishment/discipline He sends, to repent, and bear “fruit in peace and goodness” (Hebrews 12:11).

Amen Steven. God us dividing the sheep from the goats, exposing evil and darkness. Brothers and Sisters do not pray against what God is doing. This division must happen, rather pray for unity among the brethren, to understand our different giftings and motivations by the Holy Spirit. Warriors are in the midst of the battle, those with gift of Mercy should be in triage to minister to the wounded. I Cor. 13. What may appear at first to be “division”, is a difference and a necessary part to the body for the functioning of that body. Many are seeing and separating themselves from these evil doers. Continue to fast and pray, we have won a battle, we have not yet won the war. Pray on.

I ask you all to pray that the truth be made manifest in this hearing and any wickedness thwarted and that we receive a pro-life justice for the Supreme Court.
I have been praying about the hearing and have been getting scriptures that seem related.
“A slip on the pavement is better than a slip of the tongue;
[thus] so the downfall of the wicked will occur speedily.”

Before this was the following verses from Daniel 2:
“Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever,
to whom belong wisdom and might.
He changes times and seasons;
he removes kings and sets up kings;
he gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to those who have understanding;
he reveals deep and mysterious things;
he knows what is in the darkness,
and the light dwells with him.
To thee, O God of my fathers,
I give thanks and praise,
for thou hast given me wisdom and strength,
and hast now made known to me what we asked of thee,
for thou hast made known to us the king’s matter.”

For the purpose of praying for this situation, I have adapted the last line to the situation as below, since I sense that the hearing pertains to the issue of the sin of abortion and I believe that God wants the truth to be made manifest and any wickedness thwarted.

for thou hast made known to us the [truth in the] king’s matter.”

Ps 35 and Ps 2 relate to this issue as well. I am suspecting that God wants the truth to be made manifest and any wickedness thwarted through a “slip of the tongue” of the wicked, but in any case, I ask you all to pray that the truth be made manifest and any wickedness thwarted.

Dear Justice Kavanaugh
“For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding” Colossians‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭
“being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” Philippians‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭The Lord is refining you for He has a tremendous plan and purpose for you in our nation’s Supreme Court. I am certain you will be confirmed to the Supreme Court and you will go on to serve this nation and be a formidable source for truth and righteousness. Lord may no weapon formed against this good man or his family prosper! In the mighty name of Jesus Christ I pray Amen.

Father, we are begging You to help our country. Please save our country from those who are seeking to divide us, who are seeking to make us weak, those who are lying, who are hypocrites, those who are killing the preborn, those who are doing anything whether good or evil to win, etc. They don’t honor You or our country. They are putting illegal aliens before their own countrymen. They destroy a man’s reputation by lying. They laugh when the man’s little daughter prays for them. They destroy the man’s property. Their words and actions are so heartbreaking. As hard as if is, I pray for these people to see how they are destroying America. I pray that they will come to You and honor You. Father, I pray that we will become United again and tolerant of each other’s different political beliefs. I pray we turn to You. I pray that Judge Kavanaugh will be confirmed and the Republicans stay the party in power because I belief they are for America. I pray President Trump will stay in power because I believe he is for You and America. He has invited You back into the White House. Thank You for hearing our pleas. In Jesus precious name, amen

Be strong in the Lord and His mighty power. We are not fighting against flesh and blood but rulers, against the authorities, against powers of this dark world and spiritual forces of evil who want to destroy this nation and make it a godless, atheistic nation. We pray Judge Kavenaugh will remain strong and draw closer to the Lord during this demonic attack on him.

Father We give this situation into your hands, and thank You for hearing and answering our prayers! “May You arise and Your enemies be scattered! “We are not afraid because You fight for us, The Battle is The Lord’s”. We know that it is not by might or power, but by Your Spirit, says The Lord of hosts; that we can fight for truth and justice.
We will not cast off our confidence but we stand strong in Your Name and in Your Power! We pray you will shut the mouths of the evil left wing media, like you did for Daniel in the lion’s den.As it says in Psalms 41:10 “Evil people fall into their own net, while I escape safely” Hallelujah! Amen

Father I thank you for giving Judge Kavanaugh the courage and stamina to continue through this morass the dems have created. Lord protect his wife and daughters from the death threats, as well as his mother and all relatives. Strengthen him for the remainder of this battle and grant him victory, Lord, I beseech you. May he come through this fiery trial without even the smell of smoke on him. Lord, when Haman built a gallows for Mordecai, he was the one to be hung, may this be the result for all involved in this slanderous attempt to kill his character. Father, I also lift Justice Thomas to you and ask that you not allow this to open the old wounds from his confirmation, strengthen him as well and give him the courage of a lion. Amen

I am praying for justice and restoration for you, Judge Kavanaugh, and for your family. I cover all of you with the blood of Jesus. I pray that God will reverse all of this and that truth will prevail. I bind all the lies of the enemy and declare his power broken over you and your family. If God be for you, who can be against you. No weapon formed against you will prosper, every tongue risen against you will be proven to be in the wrong. I speak mercy into your life and into this situation. And I will continue to pray for you.

Pray Psalm 40 over the Kavanaugh family, President Trump and his family and his administration members and their families, ALL the Senate members and their families and their staff, ALL the FBI and their staff and families, the Justice Department and Jeff Sessions and his family and staff, and every leader and staff member who has anything to do with the Federal government, and every State government and the decisions any of these mentioned are and have made this year. Please do this daily for your family and the state where you live. God wants us
to pray His promises daily! I believe He is coming soon, and the enemy is causing this chaos
and wants us to give up our hope in the Lord. Remember “If My people, which are called by My
Name, shall (1) humble themselves, and (2) pray, and (3) seek my face, and (4) turn from their
wicked ways, then (1) will I hear from heaven, and (2) will forgive their sins, (3) will HEAL THEIR
LAND.” ~2 Chronicles 7:14
