Outgoing Never Trump Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) is voting against all judicial nominees unless he gets a vote on legislation to protect Robert Mueller, scuttling 21 upcoming Senate Judiciary Committee (SJC) votes, requiring Vice President Mike Pence to break ties for some nominees already on the Senate floor, and requiring all others to be re-nominated in 2019.
Although Sen. Flake has long been at odds with conservative Republicans, on Wednesday he crossed a new line by following through on a threat to vote against all judicial nominees.
One of President Donald Trump’s greatest successes has been an impressive array of exceptionally well-qualified nominees for judgeships, and many thought that, for all of his rhetoric, Flake would not vote against judges with stellar credentials, unblemished character, and a commitment to interpreting the Constitution according to its original public meaning.
Flake had threatened to torpedo judges unless Congress voted on legislation to prevent the firing of Special Counsel Mueller. Many legal scholars now agree that such legislation is unconstitutional for the reasons Justice Antonin Scalia explained in his famous dissent in Morrison v. Olson (1988), with liberal Justice Elena Kagan saying that Scalia’s dissent “gets better every time you read it.”
Restricting a president’s ability to fire a federal prosecutor violates the Executive Vesting Clause of Article II of the Constitution, which gives the president all law enforcement power in the federal government. . . .
Flake’s defection makes it impossible for the SJC to vote on judicial nominations with its current 11-10 partisan makeup. The Senate can technically bypass the committee process, but that is considered beyond the pale from the practical perspective.
With Flake voting no, this means that six nominees for the powerful U.S. courts of appeals and 15 nominees for federal district courts — where trials are conducted — cannot make it out of committee.
One of those nominees is Bridget Shelton Bade, recommended by Flake to President Trump for a seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
It also means that Pence’s tie-breaking vote would be needed to confirm the nominees who have been voted out of SJC and are currently pending on the Senate floor. While it is possible that Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) may vote for some or even most of these nominees, and perhaps other Democrats might vote for several, for others Pence would be the last resort. . .
For nominees who are stalled in committee after Flake’s flip-flop, President Trump will have to re-nominate them in January 2019. They must go through the committee process and then proceed to the Senate floor, with confirmations in March at the earliest, but with some possibly waiting until April or May.
Overall, President Trump has already confirmed an all-time two-year record of 29 federal appellate judges. Those numbers could climb with some floor votes on pending nominees. The rest may have to wait until 2019. (Breitbart News)

We come before your throne in reverence and humility as well as boldness and rejoicing. We rejoice knowing that you are in control of all things. (Romans 8:28)
Your holy Word says not to be anxious about anything, but with prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, to allow our request to be made. Therefore we ask in Jesus Yesuah’s name, that you’d bind the strong man in this situation regarding senator Flake.
May your will be done regarding all the opointed judiciary committee judges. We believe there’s always a reason why you allow certain things to happen, therefore we walk in faith, trusting that You have already worked out every detail of this vital matter concerning our America.
We ask that You allow our nations freedoms to be preserved so that we as Christians can continue sharing the Good News of Salvation to a lost and dying world.
Your Word says to pray for all our leaders so we can live in peace. We pray wisdom upon all our leaders at this moment in time.
If there are any who are there to thwart your plan or are there to encroach upon our God given, constitutional rights, please remove them for your glory and purpose.
Let us praise You and thank you now as we walk by faith. Our nation needs a revival as well as a strong move of the Holy Spirit within non- believers hearts starting from families, to those working for the media, those working in Hollywood, our hospitals, mayors, governors, judges, congress, senate, all the way up to every individual residing within our White House.
We pray for protection upon our military as well as our President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania, their families and all who serve under them.
Give them wisdom, a heart to pray and seek you, and strength to continue leading this country.
Stop the mouth of the lions and brood of vipers. Give our leaders vision and most of all, a conviction that they are in that position by your grace and May they always be sensitive to that honorable vital position.

We thank you for qualified nominees for the judgeships in America. and we thank you that you are sovereign and pray that the opposition of one man will not prevent those you have chosen for these positions to be confirmed without delay.
We thank you for those senators who are voting without bipartisan prejudice and from a clear conscience.
And we thank you for President Trump’s nominating such qualified men and women.
We pray that you will be done on earth in this confirmation process as it is done in heaven.

I pray a covering of the Blood of Jesus over Senator Flake that blocks all the influence of Satan and every demonic spirit over him. Father I pray that you would supernaturally bring about a change of heart in Senator Flake. Father please by the power of the Holy Spirit bring conviction upon him and remove the scales from his eyes that he would see the evil and selfishness of his intentions — if only for his own posterity’s sake — and cause every stronghold in his heart and mind that is causing him to be an enemy of his nation, his own family, his fellow citizens, the Constitution he swore to defend, and of You to fall. Open the eyes of his spirit and soul to recognize all the harm he is causing and will be responsible and accountable to You for. What a shame that Sen. Flake has turned against the Republican party. He seems to be a very bitter and angry man. Lord may you hear our prayers for this man and cause a change of heart in him. I am not feeling kindly toward this about-face man, but in obedience to you, I ask you to bless him.

I pray especially for Sen Flake this morning. Something dreadful has happened to him, for him to be overtaken by such perverse ideas. I speak forgiveness for him, and ask for You, Oh Lord, in your mercy to contend for his sake with those things which may be afflicting him, causing his life to be one of destruction instead of blessing, causing him to lose the life destiny for which he was designed when You, Father, made him. To face You with that loss when he dies and cannot go back and change it,would be a pain beyond description. I pray that you would stand against and override: any threats against him and His family (we pray for their protection), against all kinds of deceiving spirits (Spirit of Truth hover around Him if you do not have any internal access to use), a spirit of lust for power and control(Spirit of faith in You and Your sovereign work) a spirit of fear (because of threats,and other deaths that spirit gets a foothold), a spirit of megalomania(Spirit of humility).I pray for him to receive Your eyes to see what You are doing and want to complete, so he does not unwitting work against You. Thank You that Your will is manifesting! As masks continue to come off, You reveal the trouble which comes upon a nation in which many have rejected You and Your standards of truth and righteousness. Please strengthen those who valiantly continue to stand strong, despite the spiritual and moral drift occuring in the United States. Please forgive those who remain selfishly indifferent. Please forgive those leaders who don’t know what they are doing as they insanely contradict their own standards of “justice” while opposing the Constitution they once took an oath to protect. Please bring us all to our senses.
