I Prayed have prayed

The Holy Spirit reminded me of a word I shared almost two years ago concerning the Religious Spirit and its attack on the work of the Holy Spirit in the coming days. This Religious Spirit will seek to denounce the work of God’s Spirit by condemning anything that doesn’t fit the mold of man-made expectations or religious protocols.

Kanye West, an internationally known rapper and Hollywood icon, recently declared his conversion to Christ but is receiving harsh criticism from some in the Church. Though his testimony seems genuine and powerful, some believers suspect it to be a marketing ploy or, worse yet, a counterfeit gospel. Where many want to celebrate this story of radical redemption, others are leery of embracing it.

It is apparent that we need to get past human reasoning and outer appearances in order to rightly discern by the Spirit. God is moving in unfamiliar territory and our old mindsets and expectations need to be updated if we are to embrace the revolutionary transformation God wants to bring to our culture. Many have been praying that salvation would come to the mountains of media and entertainment and we need to be prepared for what that may look like – apart from our preconceived ideas and familiar formulas.

In February of 2018, I wrote about an experience I had where the Lord told me, “Religion is about to become unglued!” Our garage had flooded unexpectedly, and 2 family Bibles got wet. One was over 100 years old and was a huge family Bible that served as a table centerpiece. The ornately decorated hardcover protected much of the book, but the spine of the Bible became unglued. And, though many of the pages were waterlogged, the interior words and pictures were preserved. The other Bible was smaller but also had undergone a similar fate.

As I looked on these waterlogged family heirlooms, the Lord spoke to my spirit and described a similar spiritual reality that was coming to the Body of Christ. A coming flood of the Holy Spirit is going to impact many religious mindsets from the past that focused solely on outward appearance rather than on the heart. This coming work of the Spirit will forever alter the appearance of Kingdom realities and will cause many religious minds to become “unglued!”

The Bibles I held in my hands were symbols of tradition. At one time, they were highly esteemed treasures to be admired and cared for. But the unexpected flood changed their appearance – not their eternal value – only their outer covering. Just like the decorative cover of the Bible, the Religious Spirit focuses on appearances and that which man might consider sacred. And yet, when the Holy Spirit comes to flood our hearts with the manifest presence of God, we are forever changed from the inside out. The outer appearance no longer determines the value of the Word inside. The written word becomes alive and active in our lives and we no longer live by the letter of the law, but by the Spirit!

And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.  And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. (Ezekiel 36:26-27)

The fact is, when the Spirit moves in our lives, things change. Things we once considered “normal” or “appropriate” now become subject to a supernatural God without limitations or fleshly boundaries. Things will look different and we can’t judge by the cover. This is what is taking place in our culture as the Lord is bringing salvation to many who have been walking in deep darkness. Just as Saul was transformed from a murderer of Christians to an apostle in the Church, so is God redeeming many prodigals whose public transgressions are now becoming platforms for transformation. That which was once considered ungodly, heathen, and even demonic, are being utterly transfigured into a glorious demonstration of Kingdom love and power.

Is our faith too small to imagine that such a transformation is even possible? Does our human reasoning doubt the sincerity of these new converts simply because they don’t know our religious protocols or rules of the house? Perhaps it is not these prodigals who are being tested as much as the older brothers of the faith. Can we recognize a true work of the Spirit without penalizing the sinner or questioning God’s mercy (see Mt 23:13)? Can we see a pure heart seeking after God, even if their methods or manners are still immature?

Those who walk in the Spirit must look past the packaging and consider the gift inside. God is calling many into the Kingdom who do not look like us, sound like us, or talk like us. They will not be conventional, traditional, or even remotely religious. They will simply be sold out for Jesus. He is answering our prayers concerning the harvest! Their voice and influence will reach others that those in the religious mountain can never touch. I pray we can look beyond our traditional comfort zones to consider the radical zeal of the Lord that refuses to be bound by protocols or restrained by Religion.

Let us pray for these newly awakened followers of Christ and cheer them on! Let us become a household of faith that disciples these prodigals to maturity while giving them grace as they learn how to walk. Let us recognize the work of Holy Spirit and rejoice along with heaven that the lost are coming home and the mountains of culture are declaring the glory of God.

Dear Father help us to pray for this man. Help us to remember what we had to go through in the growing up process. Good mothers and fathers of the faith are patient, are remembering that growing up includes twists, turns, falling down, standing up,getting stronger in faith, sometimes big steps, sometimes more faith than understanding, more zeal than wisdom. But Jesus you are the author and the finished of our faith and you are able to present us blameless at your coming. Heaven is not waiting to see if he fails. Heaven is at work through brothers and sisters who are there to help Kanye mature and God your mercy will bring him through just as you are doing with us. You are a GOOD GOD thank you that we can rejoice with him and heaven over his coming into this wonderful worldwide family.

We need to pray for Kanya West to have discernment between “almost right” and 100% right sound Christian doctrin. We need pastors and teachers that uphold a Christ centered gospel (not a moralistic deism) to come in Kanye’s path. I know Adam Tyson has been a big influence, thankfully, and appears to have steered him in the right path. That said, other not so sound ministers are coming out of the woodwork to be a part of Kanye’s new found Christiandom. (Praying he shares the message of REPENTANCE when he speaks at Joel Osteen’s church, since many there will have never heard it).
I believe Kayne genuinely wants others to experince his new found love for Christ, and I believe he can potentially be used by the Holy Spirit to point MANY lost souls to Christ. But he MUST immersed in the Word…not just worship.

Let us use God’s wisdom and advice and patiently wait on the Lord concerning
this man. Pray for him and his walk to follow the Holy Spirit into all truth.
You will know them by their works. He is young yet and has not developed works of righteousness. Patience will reveal the truth.
1John 4:1
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
Mar 4:14 “The sower sows the word And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts.
Mar 4:16 “These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble Mar 4:18 “Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful
Mar 4:20 “But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirty fold, some sixty, and some a hundred.
Patience and Prayer needed now. Praying that he knows the true Jesus and follows HIM and leads many to the Christ Jesus our Savior.

If I may comment from a personal story. Many years ago I quoted the Ezek.36 passage to a young woman who had been devastated by incest from her father, a church elder. She said she needed a new heart. The next morning I saw her at coffee hour and her eyes were shining. This country needs a new heart. We need to keep praying that so many filled with hate will receive a new heart and heal this wonderful nation.

Father,
I pray that we, the Church, will worship You in spirit and truth. Help us not judge each other, but truly be Your family. Help us
encourage, support, and BE LOYAL to our brothers and sisters in Christ. Help us forgive offenses and help us accept differences and be kind to each other.
Give us wisdom and understanding to live in the way that Jesus modeled for us. I ask all this in His holy and loving name. Amen.

Hmm, God has often called those who the established church rejected.
Recent examples- The established church has had very little success in converting Muslims. So what does God do, He gives them dreams about Jesus! And they accept Jesus as their Lord!
I have Christian friends living in Israel that befriend Jews in coffee houses. Their children mix with the Jewish children and they share life together. They ask the Jews only one question- “As your God is Jesus his son?” Thousands are accepting Christ!
Every Home for Christ ministry has distributed brochures about Jesus to millions all over the world. They have covered every home, apartment, condo, etc. in Japan three times. Many are coming to Christ.

So let’s accept anyone who says they have accepted Jesus as their savior. Let’s not doubt them! Let’s ignore how they look, their past, everything except they have accepted Jesus!

Amen. So wise a word and I agree and say amen to all the responses that were given today. I’m encouraged with all as I see churches trying to move and the old order resisting. There will always be an old order. Let us move with Holy Spirit as He is always all knowing. Let us choose to have new wine skins and be full of love and joy and peace as we come alongside the moves of the Lord through the next generations. It’s the Kingdom of God in our midst and we need them.

an article I read a while back and have held on to..Authentic Love…We had a young man stumble into our church one Sunday evening . He was wretched looking ..dirty torn shirt.cutoffs, disheveled hair,a scraggly beard, and body odor.BUT one of our members saw beyond the surface and lovingly offered the stranger a seat ..We found out later the guy had never been inside a church before in his life.He had been kicked out of his house by his parents ,so he’d taken up residence in the garage, sleeping on a cot. He existed on a six pack and corn chips during the day and drugs at night .He was useless to society (but not personally worthless) and several in our congregation decided not to lose contact with him. They followed the ABC’s of love and Steve could not get over it. He’d never known such attention , never felt such a magnet. He realized these people really cared. ….Slowly the walls began to crumble. Steve began all on his own-nothing forced. He changed from within first . His attitude changed . His habits changed. His language changed. His appearance began to change. He even changed his clothes. His hunger for God and God’s word knew no bounds. He decided to go back to work- then to return to school. He made things right with his folks. He and I used to talk about his relationship with others and with the Lord. LOVE totally won that young man. He entered seminary and ultimately graduated . He is currently ministering in California . In fact , my older son and his wife Curt and DEbbie now fellowship in his church.Steve is their pastor….Love never fails. It draws like a magnet…What can I add to that

Jesus never had a problem offending that religious spirit, and still doesn’t! He has given us a President who doesn’t “fit the mold” because The Lord’s ways and thoughts are above ours and He knows what we need. He couldn’t bring a move of the Spirit through the mainline church because they would “organize” it and market it. (And kill it). So He is bringing it His Way. Not our way, but Yahweh! He doesn’t look on the outward appearance but on the heart, Thank you precious Lord for your mercy and goodness and faithfulness to us! Thank you for redeeming us and reviving us. Breath Your Life into your Church and across this nation. It is You who builds Your Body. Be it unto us according to Your Word! All praise and glory belong to You!

We all need to remember when the 70s were here and many church goers thought the new thing then would just die out and go away along with the younger set that came in singing new songs and praying in the spirit in mainline churches and the ones that came had a love and energy for the Lord that the old line congregations were not familiar with and it ruffled their feathers quite a bit! Then the new movement settled in and has now become welcomed in some mainline churches and in some larger ones has made their own music the main thing in larger churches being able to hold services for the (now older groups or generations) to continue in another venue with their traditional music and hymns and quieter ways of worship in a much more subdued tone and palatable way of worship for those to continue in their own ways of worship without any comprises.
Thus everyone leaves church having celebrated their Saviour in their own fashion without being a disruption to the others at this particular church! And the smaller churches, some maybe struggling because they could probably not conceive of that happening in their church and thus continue with the older church goers continuing to hold out till they are called home. But in the meantime have lost members to death and to smaller and smaller congregations keeping their churches barely surviving financially.
All the while the mega churches in more rural settings can afford to continue having made the accommodations easily due to funding being much more available for all concerned.
God bless you each and every one and may finances never be the reason for quitting having church services but one can see the dilemma slowly growing if some don’t change their services or at least try a few changes to bring people together to worship the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! Hallelujah!

Father, we pray for Your children to understand that You are God, too big to fit in a box or to be limited by the understanding of men. The power of the Gospel is spoken thru Your Holy Spirit and You are able to save from the uttermost; You are looking for those who are calling out for You; those who know the depths of their needs; who hunger to be holy. Lord Most High, help the “Church” to recognize that You are God and hear the cry of those who know the needs of their hearts and are not limited by religious expectations but looking for the Living God who is the same yesterday, today and forever without being restricted by the expectations of men to accomplish Your own purposes. Lift our vision of Your great Love, Power and Purposes.
Thank You for doing what only You can, for hearing the cry of men with pity and compassion for their hurting and hungry hearts. Ignite our hearts to hear Your heart for those who are hungry and thirsty to know a better way. May Your Church be one with You. Cause us to see with eternal perspective not earthy expectation.
And purify our hearts and mouths to speak Life.

Thank you for lives being saved and transformed to reach the lost and hurting with the Gospel truth. Lord you answered prayers to take back Hollywood and it’s cultural influence with the Gospel. May those who have become Your children in Hollywood be bold in sharing, be Soul winners vs Golden globe collectors and revival be rampant throughout America. May America bless the God who is it’s foundation. In Jesus name. Amen
