President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump met Wednesday with some of the dozens wounded or injured in the weekend mass shootings in Ohio and Texas that left 31 dead.

In between visits with survivors at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, the president and first lady thanked the medical staff, White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said.

“You had God watching. I want you to know we’re with you all the way,” the president told survivors of the Dayton shooting, where nine died, Grisham said.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, a Republican, and Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley, a Democrat, were among those who greeted Trump on the tarmac when Air Force One landed just east of Dayton at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, also attended.

Trump called Monday for “red flag laws,” also known as extreme risk protection orders, that would allow emergency due process to confiscate firearms from threatening people.

Among protest signs in Dayton was one reading “Red Flag Is Dystopic Future,” according to a White House press pool report.

Grisham said the presidential visit was not a photo op, in explaining why there was not media access as the Trumps went through the hospital….

Trump was in the Dayton hospital for more than 30 minutes before departing to head to El Paso.

Several Texas officials met Trump on the tarmac when Air Force One landed in El Paso, including Gov. Greg Abbott and El Paso Mayor Dee Margo, both Republicans.

While in El Paso, the president and first lady visited with first responders and hospital staff as well as victims and their families at the University Medical Center of El Paso.

Thank You Lord that we have a POTUS that recognizes and serves You, not in name only, but as the God of the Bible. May his choice of words, to speak your name serve as witness to all of us citizens and servants of Your kingdom, to speak Your name without shame and fear of man, just as our President speaks. I pray for those reading this that have discontent in their heart for this man, may they remove the plank from their own eye, and the scales fall from their eyes to see him and the work he does not from a worldly viewpoint, but from the spiritual realm of which he serves.
In Jesus name, I ask for protection and wisdom for him, his family and all those that serve in cabinet and advisory roles. Amen
