“90% of pastors agree in America (in a survey completed in 2013 by George Barna)…that the Bible speaks to the cultural, political, and social issues of the day. But, when asked later in that same survey, ‘Will you pastor? Have you spoken or will you speak out on the cultural, political issues of the day according to Scripture? 90% of them said ‘No’. And there – is the problem.” (Pastor Jim Garlow)
At a prayer conference near Washington, D.C. in November of 2018, Pastor Jim Garlow spoke to a group of national leaders and intercessors. His charge to pastors in this nation was to step up to the plate and speak to the cultural, political, and social issues of the day according to Scripture. Though there are certainly other people and political powers contributing to the downfall of our culture through ungodly legislation, Garlow says that the primary responsibility for changing the mindsets and practices within our nation rests in the pulpits of America. Without a clear teaching of the Word of God, believers now, and in the years to come, will have no standard of truth and no understanding of godly government.
Watch the video and then pray for pastors across the nation to rightly divide the word of truth, boldly proclaim the Kingdom, and empower their congregations to address the issues of the day through solid biblical principles.
