I Prayed have prayed
Father God, we are so thankful for Justice Clarence Thomas, for his faith, his intelligence, his clear thinking, and ability to communicate godly principles in Supreme Court opinions. Please bless and encourage him.

On Friday the Supreme Court declined to hear Harris v. West Alabama Women’s Center, which leaves in place a lower court ruling striking down a 2016 Alabama law banning dilation and evacuation abortions.

The real story here is found in Justice Clarence Thomas’ concurring opinion. Justice Thomas is a strong Christian. He needs our prayers! Since the death of Justice Scalia, Justice Thomas has received more attention and scrutiny for his originalist, constitutionalist opinions.

He concurred in allowing the lower court ruling to stand for a more technical legal reason, not because he believes the Constitution protects abortion, or, in this case, dismemberment abortions. He clearly stated that he wants to revisit the undue burden standard of Planned Parenthood v. Casey. In that 1992 decision, the Court had the votes to overturn Roe v. Wade, but Justice Kennedy changed his mind. The undue burden standard was born. According to Justice Thomas, the undue-burden standard is an ‘aberration of constitutional law.'”

He begins by describing the abortion method in question, quoting from court records: “purposefully ‘dismember[ing] a living unborn child and extract[ing] him or her one piece at a time from the uterus through use of clamps, grasping forceps, tongs, scissors, or similar instruments’ that ‘slice, crush, or grasp . . . a portion of the unborn child’s body to cut or rip it off.'”

He then states, for all to know, that this kind of abortion accounts for 99% of all abortions for 15 weeks or older. Again, he cites this statistic from court records.

“The notion that anything in the Constitution prevents States from passing laws prohibiting the dismembering of a living child is implausible. . . .

This case serves as a stark reminder that our abortion jurisprudence has spiraled out of control. Earlier this Term, we were confronted with lower court decisions requiring States to allow abortions based solely on the race, sex, or disability of the child. Box v. Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky, Inc., 587 U. S. ___, ___ (2019) (THOMAS, J., concurring) (slip op., at 2). Today, we are confronted with decisions requiring States to allow abortion via live dismemberment. None of these decisions is supported by the text of the Constitution.

The mandate of IFA is to inform, connect, and mobilize a growing community of people praying for the nation. Let’s put this into practice–pray for Justice Thomas and then send him an encouraging note that you are praying for him. Mail it to the Supreme Court; the address is below. When you write, consider that quite a few people are likely to read and vet his mail so write encouraging, Spirit-filled, Bible-based messages that you are praying for him. And if you do this, post a comment to encourage other intercessors.

Fellow believers, become familiar with the Baby Roe legal case from the Alabama court system. Brilliant lawyers filed an unprecedented lawsuit against an abortion clinic. The plaintiffs were an aborted baby, Baby Roe, and the baby’s father. Attorneys first established in Alabama the “personhood” of the unborn. Then, other attorneys created a trust wherein the trustees were the aborted Baby Roe and the dad. Deceased “persons” in a trust can file lawsuits!. The claim brought against the abortion clinic was wrongful death due to absence of due process for the unborn baby. Since Baby Roe was now a person, he or she was entitled to due process, but was never able to exercise this right. This case will bring down the abortion industry. Here is how – the Baby Roe case is guaranteed to percolate up to the SCOTUS. Plaintiffs will argue wrongful death because the unborn baby (“person”) was not allowed to exercise his/her constitutional right to due process. The defense will have to argue why the unborn are not entitled to due process, but they are! They will lose. And when they do, the millions of lawsuits filed against abortion clinics will bankrupt the industry.

Dear Lord God Almighty thank You for creating life and creating my life. Lord people come together and make children. Father have them consider what they are doing and be responsible. Impress upon people that there are consequences for their actions. Please Lord bless Justice Thomas with wisdom and help all the Justices to see that this is a local issue. America needs to be a nation that loves its children and does not kill them. I pray that people wake up to what they are doing or mot doing. Lord I seek You and hope Your will be done.
