According to Life Action News, “New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, a 2020 presidential nominee, and City Council Speaker Cory Johnson announced a budget agreement on Friday that includes the funding of abortions through the New York Abortion Access Fund for women who can’t afford them, even those traveling from out-of-state.”
This decision is being heralded as great news for abortion advocates. In a tweet, New York Abortion Access Fund stated: “NYAAF is getting $250k from New York City! That makes NYC the first city in the country to directly fund abortions–and that’s something to celebrate!”
The $250,000 will fund about 500 abortions, at $500 each.
Life Action News reported, “Elizabeth Nash, a state policy analyst for the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute, said the $250,000 in funding was done under the radar to avoid pro-lifers from fighting it.”
