Governor Pete Ricketts issued a proclamation declaring January 22, 2020 as a Statewide Day of Prayer. January 22nd is the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, a U.S. Supreme Court decision which struck down Nebraska’s laws protecting unborn babies. Governor Ricketts’ proclamation encourages Nebraskans to pray for an end to abortion and a deepening in respect for the humanity of unborn children.
What will you be doing on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade? Will you join us in praying for life? Sign up for a week of prayer emails, starting on Sanctity of Human Life Sunday on the 19th, through the week, including the anniversary of Roe on Wednesday and the March for Life on Friday.
“Nebraska state law states that it is ‘the will of the people of the State of Nebraska and the members of the Legislature to provide protection for the life of the unborn child whenever possible,’” reads Governor Ricketts’ proclamation. “Nebraskans display our pro-life values in a multitude of ways from the crisis pregnancy centers that provide free care for expecting parents to the prayer vigils held across the state every year.”
The Governor’s proclamation encourages Nebraskans “to pray on their own or with others, according to their faith, for an end to abortion.” Nebraskans are also encouraged to take direct action to aid mothers, fathers, and families in need, especially those expecting a child who cannot provide for themselves.

On October 10, 2019, Governor Bill Lee of Tennessee proclaimed a day of prayer and fasting. Since that time, many have fervently begged God to move other governors to bless their states the same way.
It has begun.
Oh – and the same day as Nebraska prayed for the unborn, Tennessee unveiled a new abortion law promised to be the “most comprehensive” protection law in the nation.
What state is next? Step right up. May God’s richest blessings follow!

God bless the govenors of Nebraska, Gov. Ricketts for establishing a day of prayer for giving life to the unborn and I also praise God for the state of Tennessee, Gov. Bill Lee proclamated a day of prayer of the unborn. My prayer for 2020 is that many more states will come along side these states proclaiming life to the unborn until one day the United States will be bound together praying for the scared moms & dads who need help in the right way for their child and we would provide help and assistance for life of their child. My state is Virginia and my prayer would be a proclamation for every unborn and born child to be protected and parents would have healthy options such as adoption and care for their child. Make it so Lord; help us to be obedient to your will.
Thank you Lord for this God honoring proclamation by Governor Ricketts. Thank you for his call to pray, but also the call to serve in practical loving ways to those in need. I pray we each put this call to action in each of the places we live. Praying in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen

Heavenly Father, continue to bless, guide, and protect your servant Governor Pete Ricketts, his family, and all the people You sent his way to fulfill Your will. Human life is precious from the beginning to the end. He heard Your call and is answering Your call. Thank you, Governor Pete Ricketts! GOD bless.
Thank You Lord that more of Your people in prominent positions are taking a bold stand for what is right and just.
Encourage and embolden Gov Rickkets and all of those you have placed in such positions with ability to proclaim and take action for these many things and bring Glory to Your Name
