I Prayed have prayed

This commentary was shared by Alyssa R. Alghren on Facebook concerning her observations about her generation and their rising misconceptions of socialism.

“I’m sitting in a small coffee shop near Nokomis trying to think of what to write about. I scroll through my news-feed on my phone looking at the latest headlines of Democratic candidates calling for policies to “fix” the so-called injustices of capitalism. I put my phone down and continue to look around. I see people talking freely, working on their Mac-book’s, ordering food they get in an instant, seeing cars go by outside, and it dawned on me. We live in the most privileged time in the most prosperous nation and we’ve become completely blind to it. Vehicles, food, technology, freedom to associate with whom we choose. These things are so ingrained in our American way of life we don’t give them a second thought. We are so well off here in the United States that our poverty line begins 31 times above the global average. Thirty. One. Times. Virtually no one in the United States is considered poor by global standards. Yet, in a time where we can order a product off Amazon with one click and have it at our doorstep the next day, we are unappreciative, unsatisfied, and ungrateful.

Our unappreciation is evident as the popularity of socialist policies among my generation continues to grow. Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently said to Newsweek talking about the millennial generation, “An entire generation, which is now becoming one of the largest electorates in America, came of age and never saw American prosperity.”

Never saw American prosperity. Let that sink in. When I first read that statement, I thought to myself, that was quite literally the most entitled and factually illiterate thing I’ve ever heard in my 26 years on this earth. Now, I’m not attributing Miss Ocasio-Cortez’s words to outright dishonesty. I do think she wholeheartedly believes the words she said to be true. Many young people agree with her, which is entirely misguided. My generation is being indoctrinated by a mainstream narrative to actually believe we have never seen prosperity. I know this first hand, I went to college, let’s just say I didn’t have the popular opinion, but I digress.

Let me lay down some universal truths really quick. The United States of America has lifted more people out of abject poverty, spread more freedom and democracy, and has created more innovation in technology and medicine than any other nation in human history. Not only that but our citizenry continually breaks world records with charitable donations, the rags to riches story is not only possible in America but not uncommon, we have the strongest purchasing power on earth, and we encompass 25% of the world’s GDP. The list goes on. However, these universal truths don’t matter. We are told that income inequality is an existential crisis (even though this is not an indicator of prosperity, some of the poorest countries in the world have low-income inequality), we are told that we are oppressed by capitalism (even though it’s brought about more freedom and wealth to the most people than any other system in world history), we are told that the only way we will acquire the benefits of true prosperity is through socialism and centralization of federal power (even though history has proven time and again this only brings tyranny and suffering).

Why then, with all of the overwhelming evidence around us, evidence that I can even see sitting at a coffee shop, do we not view this as prosperity? We have people who are dying to get into our country. People around the world destitute and truly impoverished. Yet, we have a young generation convinced they’ve never seen prosperity, and as a result, elect politicians dead set on taking steps towards abolishing capitalism. Why? The answer is this, my generation has ONLY seen prosperity. We have no contrast. We didn’t live in the great depression, or live through two world wars, or see the rise and fall of socialism and communism. We don’t know what it’s like not to live without the internet, without cars, without smartphones. We don’t have a lack of prosperity problem. We have an entitlement problem, an ungratefulness problem, and it’s spreading like a plague.

With the current political climate giving rise to the misguided idea of a socialist utopia, will we see the light? Or will we have to lose it all to realize that what we have now is true prosperity? Destroying the free market will undo what millions of people have died to achieve.

My generation is becoming the largest voting bloc in the country. We have an opportunity to continue to propel us forward with the gifts capitalism and democracy has given us. The other option is that we can fall into the trap of entitlement and relapse into restrictive socialist destitution. The choice doesn’t seem too hard, does it?”

We thank You, Lord, for raising up such a well spoken, insightful patriotic leader for our nation. Bless her and give her a larger platform to reach more people! Give us more wise and courageous leaders for our nation. Turn our nation back to You, oh Lord, the Author of our many blessings. Give us an attitude of gratitude at all times. Tear off the veil of lies that have deceived so many. Lift up the truth, which has lain trampled in the streets. Help us to see the truth, and the truth will keep us free! Thank You, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

Thank You, Father, for young ones who speak Truth. We give praise for those who rise up for You and Your Word. We give thanks for the Jewish people, from whom our Savior comes. We trust You, o Lord. We ask You to guard those bastions of Truth, such as Hillsdale College, PragerU, World Magazine/World News Group et al, who are reaching the younger ones with common sense news, understanding, and the tenets of our faith in You. I remember how I gave up on the faith in my college days because I was inundated with false teaching. You saved me from the pit of my selfishness and brought me back to You. I testify to Your tender mercies. May Your name be praised forever. Amen.

Praise the Lord for such an insightful, eloquent and truthful statement! I pray Alyssa that Holy Spirit will give you His words to speak into your generation and may the Light of the Lord shine brightly thru you. I often wondered if any of the millennial generation would ever “get it” and you have hit the nail on the head. Thank you for your willingness to speak truth and not let the enemy intimidate you. You are truly what we are looking for to continue this great and extremely BLESSED NATION!

I am a History Professor. This article is true in every facet. Our young people are targets of the enemy who uses apathy and ungratefulness to blind them to the truth. God, help them wake up – help US help them wake up – before it’s too late.

Look to Isaiah 5:20. The congresswomen dissemble effectively. When you call truth a lie and the lie truth then God intervenes when we pray His Word.

Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Psalm 78

Tell the Coming Generation

78 Give ear, O my people, to my teaching;
incline your ears to the words of my mouth!
2 I will open my mouth in a parable;
I will utter dark sayings from of old,
3 things that we have heard and known,
that our fathers have told us.
4 We will not hide them from their children,
but tell to the coming generation
the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might,
and the wonders that he has done.
5 He established a testimony in Jacob
and appointed a law in Israel,
which he commanded our fathers
to teach to their children,
6 that the next generation might know them,
the children yet unborn,
and arise and tell them to their children,
7 so that they should set their hope in God
and not forget the works of God…

Deut. 8: 17 You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.”
18 But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.
19 If you ever forget the LORD your God and follow other gods and worship and bow down to them, I testify against you today that you will surely be destroyed.

God have mercy on us and our posterity. I pray that courageous Christians will resist the temptation to join in the murmuring and complaining around them and that they will reply with the truth–that it is God, not government, from Whom all blessings flow.

What an insightful young lady. To recognize and contrast this reality so well in the midst of all the clamor
of today’s rhetoric is laudable. Thank you for sharing. My prayer is that the Lord will open the ears of those
in your generation and all others to this truth and that they will respond with THANKSGIVING AND PRAISE for His
grace and mercy toward us as citizens of this country and join together in His name to work toward those things
that need changing. May God bless the courage of your sharing and spread the truth of your words mightily. May
these words you shared resound loudly through out the UNITED STATES of America.

Father, thank You that some Millennial’s are having their eyes opened to what socialism really is. I pray that more and more will also have their eyes opened to the destruction of socialism and come to the realization of how blessed they are to be living in this country.
Open their eyes, open their eyes.

In Jesus’ name I pray Amen.

Wow! That is marvelous and God-given insight! We must pray and pray and pray for darkness, lies and deception to be revealed; for truth to dawn in the hearts of all our people; for God’s gracious gift of His Son and all these other blessings to be recognized and APPRECIATED! Thank you for writing. Each one of us must take a stand and proclaim God’s truth and the truth of our country’s blessing.

self focus, pride, almost a narcissim, blinds so many from Christ Jesus and His Sacrifice, His Blood, by which in this nation we obtained His Liberty. Generations since the 1950s have not been taught this, thus the blindness. “Heanvely Father, in Jesus’ Name, I pray this author’s supberb piece will reach many of her generation to light a HOLY SPIRIT FIRE OF REPENTANCE in this nation.

As much as this article speaks to some truth to things of America, I must say what A.A. Allen said to an audience. “We go to Africa and boast about making disciples there and say look at our overseas missions work!! But refuse the blacks in America in our churches today.” This blind eye approach causes a wisely orchestrated rift that satan has used and the church refuses to deal with. AKA the Elephant in the room syndrome. It’s the Hebrew-Gentile rift of Acts 15 that still hinders the manifestation of “The One New Man” that the Apostle Paul spoke about. However, it’s flipped now. Paul in Acts 21 was thought by Gentiles to be an Egyptian who led murderers in the Wilderness. Think of that, a leader in the faith thought of to be a person such as that? Now we have Gentiles murdering, ravaging all who don’t want their way backing it with corrupt governmental legislation. This also includes the manipulation of the First nations that were a blended group that spoke Paleo or Ancient Hebrew which artifacts have been found in the Colorado Rockies, Ohio and North Carolina. Think of that, this First Nations people were crushed by capitalism and put on Reservations as a would be victor has a train of victims. All the while, the American church was the chief proponent of missions to manipulate and relocate. She, the American church is in desperate need to look at the foundation of Love, the fulcrum of faith and the level of the life lived in the world as disciples of Christ. Love, Peace and Blessings to all

My daughters have bought into the socialism fantasy. I pray that the fog of deception would be lifted from their generation before it’s too late for them to learn the hard way by looking back with regret. Lord, bring a revival over our land. We need to get on our knees, humble ourselves before you, and allow you to heal our land.

Socialist fantasies began on the plain of Shinar, the Tower of Babel. This is nothing new. The only true
utopia is the Millennial Reign of the Lord Jesus Christ. Man’s efforts to fabricate the Blessed Reign will
always fail.

So true. Also, we know this must come to pass to fulfill consolidation of power-ie. The One World Order. While I Pray for revival and repentence, all the more as we see the (Day approaching) Rapture nearing, preach and teach His Word, spur each other on, Hold Fast as we see the falling away and rejection of sound doctrine/no doctrine being taught much less discipled. Our only mandate! Point to the Blessed Hope, the Tribulation will shortly follow Rapture and we CAN still prepare those to know it when they see it. Lord, break our hearts for those who through arrogance and ignorance, reject your Truth yet need a Witness. Give us Boldness. Help us stay Strong in pursuit of you and take heart that you have Overcome the world. The fields are white unto harvest, but the laborers are few. Help us REFUSE to ‘look back from the plow’, being unfit for Your Kingdom. Help us to reject the thorns that grow up and desire to choke out your Love and plans for us. Amen.
