On the heels of the election, with Virginia firmly in the liberal majority–even in some rural counties, here are the reflections of Michael Farris, President of the Alliance for Defending Freedom, and Virginia resident.
This is a somber day to be a Virginian who loves freedom. But the rest of the nation should take warning that this is a portent of the 2020 election. Virginia’s odd-year elections usually foreshadow national results in the following year.
Here’s what we can expect in Virginia.
A radical form of LGBTQ protections. Expect boys claiming to be girls on sports teams. Drag queens reading days in libraries. Few or no exemptions for religious institutions or individuals. Repeal of our Right to Work laws.
Restrictions on homeschooling that have been sought in the past but have been rebuffed by GOP leadership.
Legislative support for college policies restricting freedom of speech. Direct attacks on religious freedom.
Successful passage of the radical abortion laws introduced last year. Ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment which will constitutionalize Roe v Wade and LGBTQ theories. Since I lead the world’s largest litigating organization that protects the fundamental freedoms of life, religious freedom, freedom of speech, parental rights, marriage, and biological understanding of sex, I expect to be very busy battling these assaults on liberty.
And should the nation follow Virginia in 2020, we can expect a deluge that will feel like a Stalinist purge aimed at people with traditional faiths and values. And, again, Alliance Defending Freedom will stand firm and fight hard in the halls of justice.
In the end, I expect to prevail. But it’s likely to be a bumpy ride.
Isaiah warned Israel when it turned its back on God’s standards and embraced practices that left its hands full of blood. (Chapter 1). But God told His people—not those who reject Him, but His people—that they had to stop doing wrong, do what is right, seek justice, encourage the oppressed, seek the cause of the fatherless, defend the case of the widow.
If we do these things, God promises that though our sins be as red as crimson they shall be as white as snow. While this famous verse has an obvious secondary application to personal salvation, it was actually addressing national sin.
We need to clean up our own houses. And we need to stand for justice.
The ACLU had a huge influx of new donors right after Trump was elected. The left was committed to fight back in the courts. And they got almost $200 million in new support virtually overnight. Folks, the oppression is coming and we must prepare for battle and I need you to stand with me.
IFA Note: Many of us see the battle heating up–2020 will be epic. It will take unified persistent prayer–and action, to press in for the soul of our nation, our states and even many of our hometown communities. But God has appointed us to be here in this time, at this place, for this assignment. Like Michael Faris said above–we must prepare for battle. Share how you are doing that even today! Lord please help! Lord take back the ground we the people have given to the enemy. Hear the repentance of Your people Lord and heal our Land. Take back the ground given to the enemy Lord. Open our eyes LORD to see Your horses and chariots surrounding us. We are not outnumbered! With GOD all things are possible. One with GOD is a majority! We depend not on man but on YOU Almighty, All Powerful, Omniscient, Omnipresent Father GOD and for Your Son’s sake we ask you to defeat the enemy of our souls, the enemy at work in all who don’t know You as LORD and Savior. Send revival, Father GOD, and let us see the defeat of the wicked one in our generation. Help us Father to know the role You want for each of us to take and grant us the grace to take our places on the wall, to be watchful, and to pray in accordance with Your will. There are consequences to wrong decisions, LORD, so help us to be very careful to consult you about everything and to receive your wisdom and counsel before moving ahead. In Jesus Name and for HIS sake, I pray. Amen.
I agree with with the comments about this article. My part will to continually be in prayer for our President, for his protection, his spiritual walk, his spiritual advisors and any man or woman that is a believer to surround him, mentoring him in the faith, his wife, members of Congress as they strive to lead our nation and to protect our precious freedoms. Now is the time to pray as we never have before. We know our future is in our precious Lord, Jesus Christ, but we must endure the race til He returns. He will give us the strength, courage, and grace that we need to succeed in this journey.

scripture says, those who know their God will do exploits. now is not the time to plead with God, it is the time to shut doors. Isaiah 22:22, shutting doors that no man can open. I declare over this new administration in Virginia, you will not be able to execute unrighteousness over the people of Virginia. You must, and you will, take heed to what you do! your political party affiliation may be left-sided, but you will operate in that position with wisdom from the Holy Spirit and you will not work in darkness nor pass laws that go against God’s ways. May the Holy Spirit begin a mighty work in the hearts of the newly elected governor and other officials. May He turn the “courses of their lives” to align with His will. I pray for Virginia that by the time of the next Presidential election, that they will have awakened and will vote for the US Constitution, life, freedom of religion, marriage between a man and a woman, etc. Father in heaven, do whatever You need to do to change things in Virginia so that they choose to walk in Your ways. Shake whatever needs to be shaken. Mercy for Virginia, Father. You love them so much. In Jesus’ name. I thank You, Father, for those who voted for the Constitution and morality and life, etc. Bless them, use them to be salt and light of Your way, truth, and life to those they meet everyday in the world.
I am also grieved for my state of Virginia. And while we need to pray fervently that these ungodly laws are not enacted, we also need to pray for the hearts of the lost to turn to Christ — and be willing to share the Gospel with others so they can be set free from wickedness and desire righteousness in their lives and our land.
We moved from New York State last year to be near our ailing daughter and to escape the extreme liberalism that characterizes NYS politics. We are disappointed in what happened in VA Tuesday! But……God is in control and we are trusting the Lord for hearts that will come to Him in repentance and faith once they see the horror that may be released. Even so come Lord Jesus!
Amen! Let us each commit to the journey of cleaning up our own houses! Let us start with ourselves and then our loved ones. May we become a peculiar people as the word says! Turn our own hearts to back to God at a much greater level. May be become doers and not just hearers of his word! Read and apply! May we open our own eyes to the “little” sins which have become a way of life. We sin against God when we hold (unforgiveness, fear (stress/anxiety), bitterness, envy and jealousy, stubbornness (idolitry), occultism) toward God, self and others. These things may not be against man’s law, but the habitual practice of them violates God’s law and can bring sickness and confusion to an individual, a home, to a nation. Practice of these things breaks down our physical body’s function, the family function and the function of the nation. We were designed to physically and spiritually function in righteousness and our bodies won’t do well in sin! Let us learn to forgive and release ourselves, others and recognize that above all things God wants obedience, which He says is better than sacrifice. Many of the sorrows we experience are the result of wrong thinking and iniquity passed down generation to generation in the form of the practice of unforgiveness,bitterness,fear, etc. May be develop new ways of thinking, speaking, and acting! Ways that line up with Gods best for us! There is power in obedience! There is joy and peace in obedience. Seek Him with all your heart and drawnear to him and he will draw near to you! Amen!!

Awaken your body of believers to repent, to turn to You with our whole hearts to see the healing of our land, forgiving our sins. So that Your people who honor You will rise up, say No more murder of our babies, No more confusion brought into our children’s minds, No more calling evil good and good evil! Amen! May we turn ourselves toward God and become doers of his word, calling evil evil and good good as it lines up with scripture. May we start with our own lives by addressing the little sins that so easily beset is..fear, guilt, shame, lying, bitterness, jealousy, envy, anger. Are these things good or evil? What does scripture say? If the habitual practice of these things are evil we must get them out of our lives on a daily, moment by moment basis. Let’s work to repent (walk away) from these things in our lives. We can become a new creature by renewing our own minds and coming into agreement with God. It’s the little things that make a big impact in our own lives, our families and ultimately our community. Blessings in our collective overcoming!

Father, we repent as a nation that we have chosen a self centered lifestyle and chosen to ignore our civic duties to elect government that protects babies and children. We ask for your forgiveness and for a deep cleansing that will cut to the heart and shift our priorities so that we take time and make time to help elect godly officials. Cleanse us with the Blood of the Son and bring such a heart change in this nation that no other state will go down this evil path in the upcoming elections! My state of IL is also on a path of pure evil and destruction of children’s lives, and we desperately need your help, Father! Come,, Holy Spirit!
I also live in IL. I plead for the intervention of the Lord Jesus in our state. The policies that our officials are enacting are pure evil. I pray that the Lord will intervene; He is our only hope.

The good Lord spoke to my heart and told me that we need to fight this battle in a different way to outsmart the devil. We need to infiltrate the Democrat Party and change it from within. God doesn’t care whether we are Republican or Democrat. He cares that we do His will. We need our warriors to run as Democratic candidates with Conservative values. We need to change the Democratic Party from within. This is a Spiritual battle and lines need to be crossed. Amen
