Christian rap superstar and fashion mogul Kanye West is openly expressing his Christian faith in the holiday season and is set to bring his opera production Mary to the Lincoln Center in New York City, just three days before Christmas.
According to Vanity Fair, the opera is a follow up to West’s Nebuchadnezzar production and had its debut at the Marine Stadium in Miami, Florida, this month. The production is directed by artist Vanessa Beecroft, with music by Sunday Service, the magazine added.
Mary, originally titled Birth of Jesus, tells the story of Jesus’ birth, in time the Christmas. The Closed on Sunday artist “thought it would be more interesting to tell the story from Mary’s point of view; unlike Jesus, a divine being, Mary was just a human, petrified by the angels’ message and brilliance,” the outlet reported.
West is expected to take the performance to the Lincoln Center on December 22. . . .
The Jesus Is King crooner told Vanity Fair that he hopes the scripture-filled operas serve as a “beacon of light.”
“God put it all together,” West told the magazine. “I’ll tell you what, when I don’t apply grace, I don’t get the results I’m looking for. Everything must be done with grace. That’s one of the things I pray for — and I need to pray for more.”

Father, I pray for all involved, from set prep, to performers, the audience and the staff. Lord I pray that a stirring of hearts, a questioning with true motive to seek Your truth over man, I pray for the minds to desire fact finding in intelligent design, that many would be brought to their knees in truth biblical repentance. Seeing themselves as born sinners in need of a Savior from the death sentence of the wrath of God. It is only through Christ Jesus alone that our sins are forgiven. Lord You will call whom You will and in this time of darkness, I ask You to call out many, that You will reveal Your holiness to. Father, so many have been lured into a cheap gospel, an easy believism without truly considering the cost of following You. Father, prepare us for the Day of the Lord is nigh. Reveal Yourself to Kanye, may he make time to study in Your Word for himself, that he not fall for the lure of the american gospel taught in the mega church today. Grant Him mercy and grace and use him not for his glory, but for Your glory alone. In Jesus name I pray Your character, Your omnipotence, omniscience, Your immutability be understood. And though these performances, an understanding of Your atoning work, and the propitiation of sin that took place in order for us to be granted eternal salvation. Lord, surround these performances with mature believers to come aside the immature, baby Christian’s to pray with them, to help them find actual Bible believing churches to come into fellowship with, and to exhort them to the reading of Your Holy scriptures, that Your Holy Spirit might dwell in them for their good, and Your glory in the coming days ahead, of which You warn will be days of ever increasing darkness. Come quick Lord Jesus, and in Your Holy Name, the Name above all names I pray. Amen
I come in agreement with your prayer! Yes, LORD, pour out all the grace Kanye West needs and protect him from the evil one. We pray for Kanye in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
Father, please let Kanye’s salvation and love for You be steadfast and with an undivided heart for the things of God. Let his testimony be fresh always in his heart in order to bring You glory and bring countless other lost souls to Christ and give him the grace he asks of You along with mercy. And bless him with Your wisdom with performances that are godly and not worldly in nature. In Jesus name, amen.
