ILLINOIS PASSES LAW REQUIRING LGBT HISTORY TAUGHT IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Lord God, we pray for that parents would stand up for Biblical values and speak out against the sexualization of children through history lessons.

LGBT history must now be taught in Illinois public schools, according to a recently passed law.

Governor J.B. Pritzker signed the legislation on Friday, requiring public schools in the Midwestern state to teach students about the historical contributions of LBGT persons in U.S. history.

Supporters of the law insist the curriculum will curb bullying against students who identify as LGBT. The law also requires that the state Board of Education must provide a list of textbooks authorized for purchase under the law every year.

Our children need prayer, as the schools have become the proving ground for experiments in radical sexuality.

The legislation reads: “Each public school district and state-recognized, non-public school shall, subject to appropriations for that purpose, receive a per-pupil grant for the purchase of secular and non-discriminatory textbooks.

“In public schools only, the teaching of history shall include a study of the roles and contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in the history of this country and this State.” . . .

Terry Schilling, executive director of the American Principles Project, a Washington, D.C. area nonprofit whose stated mission it is to re-establish human dignity as the basis for American society, believes LGBT activists are implementing something much more sinister under the banner of teaching history while schools are largely failing students.

“I can’t think of anything weirder than being obsessed with teaching young children about sexuality. Even most parents struggle with this topic because of its difficulty, but somehow we as parents are OK with a complete stranger teaching them,” Schilling said in an email to The Christian Post Monday.

Parents need to reclaim their role as the primary educators of their children — especially as it pertains to their children’s sexuality. No one else has that right or responsibility.” (Excerpt from Christian Post.)

(Editor’s note: Last year we reported on a school in England where more than 600 Muslim children stayed home as a means of parents protesting this kind of “inclusive” instruction. One of the leaders, a Muslim mom, made this point as well–children cannot handle all the talk about sexuality and relationships. It is not age-appropriate and it is having consequences. This is the kind of common sense talking point to bring to your school board meetings and state legislatures.)

School is starting all across the nation and God is calling us to pray. For the past six months or more, God has been impressing upon the IFA staff the vital necessity of praying for the public schools: students, Christian educators, and the many legal Christian ministries at work in the public schools. Don’t miss this critical time of prayer for our nation’s most important mission field and our nation’s most critical missionaries. Call (712)775-7430 (no code needed), or join us on Facebook LIVE.

  1. Father, have mercy upon us, forgive our sins, heal our land. We pray You would stop the introduction of this evil into the school system everywhere in our land. Bring to naught that which has been promoted by the enemy of our souls and especially the enemy of our children. We cry out, O God, that You would raise up, Godly parents, churches, and legislators to raise the banner of the cross over our schools to the glory of our Lord Jesus!,

  2. PLEASE PRAY FOR ME AND OTHERS . I am working on standing against this. I am going door to door to Churhes. I am seeking legal counsel. I have been in touch with others. The Illinois School system is not the place for social experimentation or INDOCTRINATION- but for Education. I am asking Christian Educators to STAND. I am asking God to RAISE UP HIS CHURCH AND PARENTS AGAINST THIS. PLEASE KEEP ME IN PRAYER. This “LAW” is scheduled to go in effect July 20, 2020. Please pray and thank God for Victory. “NO weapon that forms against us shall prosper” (Isaiah 54:17). There is VICTORY in Christ Jesus.
