I Prayed have prayed
Lord we pray for the people in the Bahamas who have lost so much. Help them to rebuild and provide food and shelter. We also pray protection for those in the path of the storm.

The first tragic views are emerging of the devastation Hurricane Dorian unleashed on the Bahamas. It killed at least seven people, but that death toll is expected to rise because the storm has finally moved on and officials can start to assess what happened there. Now the eastern US is bracing for this still dangerous storm.

The scene after Dorian’s brutal attack on the Bahamas is stunning…debris that was once people’s homes, now covering the island with wreckage.

“It’s total devastation. It’s decimated. Apocalyptic,” said Lia Head-Rigby, who helps run a local hurricane relief group and flew over the Bahamas’ hard-hit Abaco Islands. “It’s not rebuilding something that was there; we have to start again.”

Hitting as a Category 5 storm with sustained winds up to 185 mph and wind gusts over 200 miles an hour, Dorian was the most powerful storm in recorded history here, targeting the Abaco and Grand Bahama Islands, known for their marinas, golf courses and all-inclusive resorts.

Even worse, Dorian stalled over these islands, and their 70,000 residents, for two days. A Red Cross spokesman says more than 13,000 houses were believed to be severely damaged or destroyed. That’s nearly half of the homes Grand Bahama and Abaco.

Survivor Dert Duport says, “Well going through it was terrifying and we’re happy to be alive, glad that my family is safe.”

Rescuers report seeing bodies floating in the water, and the final death toll won’t be known for days.

The US Coast Guard is helping lead search and rescue, but there are still areas that first responders can’t reach.

People are using boats, even jet skis, to try and reach those who have lost everything.

A humanitarian crisis is emerging in the Bahamas. The main hospital on Grand Bahama is unusable. Homes are destroyed and more than 60,000 people need food and clean drinking water.

And Dorian’s not done.

It’s now a Category 2 storm, but with winds at 110 miles an hour, it’s wider than it was before and is still considered dangerous.

Authorities have asked two million people in Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas to evacuate.

South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster says, “This is a very serious storm and a western shift that is towards land of just a few miles could bring enormous damage.”

Even if Dorian doesn’t make landfall in the US, it could bring storm surge and severe flooding….

God’s grace, mercy, provision and comfort be with all those whose lives are shattered by this devastating hurricane.
Bless them with relief by way of those who are ministering to the needs of the people ~ first responders, ministry outreach organizations who provide food, personal care items, shelter, water, etc. In the process of grief, may the people not despair of hope ~ hope in God’s mercy for recovery and times of refreshing to come swiftly.
Almighty God, be glorified in Your compassion, Your care, Your presence and provisions each day as they begin the recovery process. Thank you Lord God, our compassionate and faithful Father who is with us in every trial and dufficulty!

Heavenly Father, I thank you that you are all powerful! I ask you to help people be aware of your presence and your love. I pray that people will call out to you and sense that nothing is impossible with you. I ask that you use this as a teaching situation for all of us to remind us to put you first in our lives and that really only knowing you and serving you are what we need to have as our priorities. I pray that people will give you their lives, the lives of those they love, and their possessions and that your will be done. Thank you that you can use even these horrific situations for good! Please use this storm to increase your kingdom. Please give counselors and first responders and all support people wisdom and safety. Please use them to represent your love for others that many will sense your presence and your love. In Jesus name amen!

Oh Lord, please comfort and heal the people of the Bahamas. Lord, my heart is heavy for the dear people I met there a few years ago, who committed to pray for me and my family who were going through a crisis, and who were so kind to me in my time of trouble. They had a simple little shack where they sold their craft, but I will never forget the size of their love for You and me. Please help them and others, who have lost so much: loved ones, homes, belongings, workplaces and livelihoods, pets, markets, everything we still have. They are at the mercy of those who are able to help, including us. Help us to be generous with our prayers, money, time, and whatever else we can give. Please empower our Christian brothers and sisters there to be able to comfort others and lead them to You. You know every need there, Lord, much better than we do. Please comfort and provide, and guide and use us to be a part of the answer to our prayers. In Jesus’ name I pray.

I pray that He who commands the winds & the waves would have mercy & calm the storm! I pray that He would allow us to be good stewards of His resources by not destroying so much of our goods & structures, requiring us to dispose of them & create more. In the name of Jesus I pray! Amen.

Lord you are the creator & sustainer of all things. I ask that your wind- Holy Spirit to hover over the Bahamas & bring comfort that supercede all trauma. Create in the hearts of the people a pathway to you. Shelter them from the prying eyes of the media. Let them feel your wrap around love in everyone who seeks to aide them in their hours of need.

I am praying that God would comfort those who have lost everything, even their loved ones, that He would settle hearts and minds, that He would not let norm-again believers turn away from Him in despair and disbelief. Lord God, keep them. Provide for all…letting them see and experience your great love and tender mercies. In Jesus’ name. Lord, have mercy.

Dear Daddy God! I pray in the Name of Jesus and I speak to Dorian with the Spiritual Authority of a believer in Jesus! I speak to Dorian the words of Jesus “Peace! Be still Dorian!”.
I plead the Blood of Jesus over this storm, over our Eastern seaboard, over every American and every foreigner, every home, car, livestock and wildlife! I voice & join my Spiritual Authority from Jesus with other believers to defeat the efforts of satan and his evil ones who seek to steal, kill & destroy! I decree restoration to those who have experienced this terrible destructive force from satan & his evil ones! I speak in Jesus Name for relief to come quickly & abundantly to those where this storm has taken place!
Holy Spirit Be anointing unto those believers and nonbelievers alike! I pray for people to lean unto the Holy Spirit! I ask in Jesus Name for a Great Awakening to come upon every place & every one in the world! Father we need this to happen in us all! I ask in the Name of Jesus with the supreme Power in His Name! Thank you Father! Hallelujah God! I see this and thank you for it in Jesus Name! Amen!
