One student was killed and eight others were injured Tuesday when a shooting occurred at a Colorado school that serves grades kindergarten through 12th grade.

The mass shooting took place at STEM School Highlands Ranch, which is located in Douglas County and has more than 1,800 students….

1. Heroic students tackled gunman

Nui Giasolli, a student who witnessed the shooting, told the “Today” show that several of her male classmates tackled Erickson.

“Kendrick lunged at him and he shot Kendrick, giving all of us enough time to get underneath our desks, to get ourselves safe and to run across the room to escape,” Giasolli recalled….

2. The other suspect is a juvenile female

Sheriff Spurlock did not name the second suspect but said the suspect is a juvenile female.

Authorities initially thought both suspects were male.

“We originally thought that we had a juvenile male in custody but through our interviews yesterday late afternoon determined that we have a juvenile female that is in custody right now who is the other suspect,” Spurlock said Wednesday at a press conference….

3. Shooting took place during class

Giasolli, who has known Erickson for four years, said Erickson “came in late” to 9th period class — “Miss Harper’s British Literature.”

“He walked to the other side of the classroom where we also had another door and he opened the door. He walked back as if he was going to go back to his seat. Then he walked back to the other door and he closed it.

“The next thing I know he’s pulling a gun and he’s telling nobody to move.”…

4. Shooting happened miles from Columbine High School

The STEM school shooting happened less than 10 miles away from Columbine High School, where 12 students and one teacher were killed by two teens in a mass shooting in 1999.

It was the worst high school shooting in U.S. history at the time….

5. City, school offering grief support

A support center is being made available for students, parents, and staff at the local St. Andrew United Methodist Church on Wednesday and The Douglas County School District is providing grief support.

“All DCSD schools will have support staff available, on-site to help students and staff with processing today’s tragedy,” said Douglas County School District Superintendent Thomas Tucker…. (Read More Click Here) (Excerpts from Michael Gryboski article in The Christian Post)

There’s more to the story than that. The police discovered that the 16-year-old girl was dressed like a boy and goes by a boy’s name. She is “transitioning” to be a boy. And… the 18-year-old boy wants to be a girl! Apparently, the other kids were bullying them because of their desire to change sexes, so they tried to fight back by shooting them.

This all goes back to teaching this is schools at an early age. Our new gay governor wants to have it taught in all grades from kindergarten on up. That will just cause more gender confusion. Please pray that his plan to integrate gay sex training in the schools will be stopped.

    LG says:
    I agree with Dr. M as I live in Colorado and have been active in watching our general assembly produce a bill in this state called Comprehensive Sex Education. It is designed just as Dr. M said to teach kids about gender choices that they can make and it has some sexual details about behavior that are shocking. Our new governor is, in fact, supporting this as a gay man himself. They have done surveys in the schools and have statistics on the gender confusion among many kids today. The wording of the bill states that religious counseling is prohibited as they condemn these kids. The supporters of this bill actually believe that this will control the bullying of kids who are gender confused. Please pray that this generation will know that Jesus is their hope for their present and future and that their true identity is in Christ Jesus. I speak this word from Rom 10:20 over them. “I was found by those who were not looking for Me;
I revealed Myself to those who were not asking for Me.” Please pray with all of us parents who have assembled together to pray and stop the state from taking control of our children.

God Almighty, have mercy on that town. Show yourself strong in this situation. Open the eyes of everyone involved. Comfort and heal the mothers especially, who loves st children. Help them forgive, and mobilize them to respond in the Spirit of Your Son. Protect the survivors. Help them find Jesus. Give them strength to endure what lies ahead, and give the adminstrators profound wisdom and courage to respond lovingly and with strategy that You see as most effective. Help the father’s overcome grief and guilt. Let a healing come profoundly to this community and this nation as a result. In Jesus name, for Yeshua’s reign. Amen
