House Democrats passed election legislation that conservatives say would inhibit states’ powers to set qualifications for voters, remove safeguards on voter registration rolls, and undermine the integrity of elections. Without a vote from the Senate, this remains just a bill, but you can see the direction that Congress is headed.
“HR 1 is one of the worst bills introduced in Congress in recent memory,” Hans von Spakovsky, a senior legal fellow in The Heritage Foundation’s Edwin Meese III Center for Legal and Judicial Studies, said, referring to the number of the House’s first bill of the new session.
“Many parts of it are unconstitutional and it is full of bad and unwise provisions that will restrict free speech and grassroots political activity, as well as hamper the ability of state government to ensure the security and integrity of the election process,” von Spakovsky told The Daily Signal in an email. . . .
Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., said the Democrats’ bill is an attack on Americans’ freedoms.
“There’s a reason why there’s a lot of people in one party who are voting for this, and I don’t know whether they believe in the Constitution or not. But what it means is they know what this is going to help them irrigate more power to them and continue to try to stomp down on the power of the people,” Biggs said of the legislation. . . .
Jessica Anderson, vice president of Heritage Action for America, the lobbying arm of The Heritage Foundation, said HR 1 is a political tool Democrats are using to further their agenda:
Although Democrats are promoting HR 1 as a bill that would ‘strengthen our democracy and return political power to the people,’ it is an anti-democratic bill that would wreak havoc on our election system by manipulating election rules in favor of Democrats. It is nothing but a progressive power grab, and all Republicans in Congress should vote against it. (Excerpted from the Daily Signal.)

Lord, help us to focus on what is truly important over all of the things this world approves of, and that being you. You reign supreme over All, and are in all. I pray Lord God that you would us this for your glory, that you would take something so twisted and use it to display you glory and wonder. I pray for you holy Church, that we would be ready and prepares to follow your lead on this, that our will is one with yours. I pray that your grace, mercy, and love would be on full display, and that we are prepared to reap the harvest. Lord God, we pray that the Republicans in the Senate will shut down this attack on our Constitution. And we thank you that if it gets to the Presidents desk he will veto it. Protect both these safe guards now in place. i especially pray that the Republican Senate will work together and for our President and we the people. I can’t figure out how to take action. The supposed links didn’t work.
What can be done to stop these democrats from passing bills that the American people haven’t even agreed to? It’s like we the people have no say in what they do at all! They should all be fired with the exception of maybe 3, please advise. I blow their offices up with phone calls and letters to no avail. Prayers are first and I know God hears us, but what can we do on our parts?
We must take a STAND, they think we’ll fall for anything. God be with us and give us a courageous spirit to keep the FREEDOM we have in this country. May we not take it for GRANTED.
God have mercy on America. Please intervene to prevent unrighteous legislation that steals the rights you have established in our nation that make it unique as you designed. Father God, we call upon you to intervene in this situation and create confusion that prevents passage of this Bill.

California is reaping the whirlwind of evil from unfair and unconstitutional election laws. Americans need to rise up as one and put an end to laws that Rob us of our political and consequently our religious freedom.laws like this one will turn us into a dictatoship.

Dear gracious Lord. You are Lord, guide all of in the way we should go. I submit completely to your will. Intervene with your Spirit Lord and guide our leaders.
The only way to have fair elections is that honesty and equality are preserved for all legal citizens. As citizens, we have access to knowing who stands on issues. We can guard it as our lives depend upon doing what is right.
I’ve read both sides of the bill and it seems like the Republican side of the explanation is the most vague. I’m all for corporations having less say in elections so I’m saying yes to HR1.
Could this website provide a direct link to our Congressmen so they could receive our comments – or even a preset comment/request that this site has written? Telling folks to “contact your Congressman” does not necessarily work. The majority of us do not readily have their contact info, thus most people won’t take the time/effort to do it. Thank you.

We are under attack. This is spiritual warfare. We have to ask and thank God for his protection from the enemy. We need to speak out more for our rights as conservatives. It is easier to do with President Trump. Under President Obama we were racists for saying no to injustice. The enemy is fighting hard. Pray and call your congressmen. What the Dems are accusing us of doing is what they do all the time. How demonic is that?!! PRAY!!!
We the people are getting tired of the democraps attacking the sovereignty of our nation. They have no right passing a law contrary to that which is law by the constitution. People are starting to rebel against the way democraps think they run this country and not listening to the people.
It’s vital that we make our voices heard at the local and state levels. Centralizing will clearly usurp the Constitution, stripping the states of their right to determine voting policy and maintenance of integrity in this most sacred voting process.
The intent is clear in this self-serving proposal. We must remember that we are a republic of sovereign states. The founding fathers were very intentional on this point. The central government derives its power from the states; the states from “we the people”. It’s high time that we remind those, who are elected to serve us, of their role.
