Lord God, we pray that our government would not condone this type of experimentation.

Scientists and ethicists worldwide are calling for a global moratorium on editing the DNA in human embryos, but a Democratic-led committee in the U.S. House of Representatives wants to leave the door wide open to the controversial research. On May 23, the House Appropriations subcommittee that focuses on funding related to the Food and Drug Administration drafted a bill that would drop the ban prohibiting the FDA from considering such research.

Congressional lawmakers instituted the ban in 2016 to prevent scientists from producing a baby with heritable genetic modifications. A rider to that law also bars the National Institutes of Health from funding research that genetically modifies human sperm, eggs, or embryos. The studies could be privately funded but cannot get very far without FDA approval to conduct clinical trials.

Rep. Jeff Fortenberry of Nebraska, the top Republican on the Appropriations subcommittee, opposed the changes to the law. “This is a prohibition that is accepted by nearly every nation in the world due to the unknown risks,” he said.

In November 2018, Chinese scientist He Jiankui announced the birth of twins from embryos that he genetically modified, increasing the urgency for governments to set guidelines for such research. Secular ethicists and researchers immediately voiced concern about the unknown risks the experiments created for future generations. Christian ethicists noted deeper problems like the inevitable destruction of human embryos involved in the research and the societal consequences of tampering with what God has created. . . .

Already, some U.S. scientists are anxious to cross the same line that He did in China. Hank Greely of Stanford University supports lifting the ban so the FDA can consider research into procedures like making an embryo from a mother, a father, and an egg donor to prevent passing on a mother’s mitochondrial disease. But ends don’t justify compromising the sanctity of human life, created in the image of God, even for medical advancement. “Utopia will never arrive, and you don’t use human beings as stepping stones to get there,” William Hurlbut, a Stanford University bioethicist told WORLD Magazine in an interview published earlier this year.

After i had two boys, i found out that we have deficits in chromosome 1. This causes alot of disabilities that caused exstream hardships. There is a 50 percent chance my grandchildren will have this genetic condition.
crisper gene editing technology has the ability to make this change in our DNA. im a Christian and believe that God provides discernment, knowledge, and wisdom to those who work to enhance the quality of life by altering defective genes. There is potential for abuse however nothing will happen that God didnt already know was going to happen.

Can we see the irony here? They want to edit human embryo DNA, but why? So that issues with the “mother and father” not be passed on to future generations, vs “It’s just a fetus, not a baby.” Who gives a rip? It’s still a human! They do these experiments and acknowledge that it is human and that it has a human future beyond the womb. God has a better idea Ps 139:16 “Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.”

When will this experimenting stop? We now have expermentation from the womb forward through all stages of the human lifespan. How is life so devalued that we can experiment with it at will?

Such marring of genes has not occurred since demon mated with women. The Democrat House of Representatives is an abomination
and voters must do their duty.

Alan, have you not heard oh Democratic governors signing abortion ban legislation? Or are you acting out of your human anger? Which does not work God’s righteousness! According to James 1:20

God, I thank you for Sis. Jackie’s prayer that we are not You, the Creator. We are your creation. Respect and honor come from You. If we don’t honor You, we will definitely not honor one another. I pray that we as human citizens will protect not destroy the lives of the unborn. May those who have experienced the abortion process and agonies that are often concealed about abortion be brought to light so that those who maybe contemplating an abortion know the facts on the devastation of abortion. Abortion is not surgery. God continue to forgive for us of our ignorance. In Jesus name, Amen

Dear Lord God Almighty thank You for everything. Thank You for prayer. Lord please help people to be what they should be and not what they should not be. Lord we are Your creation not the products of science. May this scientific tinkering about not go too far. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

We are not God the creator of all living beings. We have no place in doing so or attempting to do so. An embryo is a sacred God created ,God given gift. Precious beyond comprehension. May we hold our children in the highest regard by protecting them from the moment of conception. We can not truly let this ban be dropped or these experiments happen.May God stop it from happening. In his holy mighty name. AMEN
