Republicans triggered the so-called nuclear option Wednesday, changing the interpretation of Senate rules to speed up the time it takes to confirm presidential appointees and creating a glide path for President Trump to fill out his administration and stack the lower federal courts with conservative judges.

In a pair of 51-48 votes, the Senate lowered the amount of time senators can delay a vote after a filibuster has been surmounted from 30 hours to two hours for district court nominees, and for most executive branch jobs.
Including the time it takes to cast votes, Republicans could confirm 10 or more people in the time it used to take to approve a single judge or assistant secretary.
Republicans said they felt compelled to act after Democrats attempted to filibuster more than 120 nominees in Mr. Trump’s first two years in office, more than the past six presidents combined in their first two years.

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for giving the Republicans the backbone to stand up for what is right.
Thank you for helping them confirm the 120+ nominees plus all future nominees of President Trump so that they can serve our country in their capacity.
We thank you that you continue to give our President and his advisers the wisdom to choose the correct judges, godly men and women who honor and uphold our constitution and laws.
We ask that you help each nominee financially as many of them have quit their previous positions to serve our country.
Bless them abundantly and restore what the enemy has stolen.

Father, in the name of your Son Jesus Christ,grant the Senate wisdom and understanding in confirming those justices presented by President Trump for placement in Federal Courts. Grant great discernment and through research to these appointments in a timely fashion. Bless them with unity and your Godly direction.
I disagree with your characterization of stacking the courts with conservative judges”. I believe that President intends to “fill the courts with judges who respect the Constitution and the Rule of Law”. Their politics should not matter. Unfortunately, it seems that judges who are conservative do believe in the above principles, and those who are “progressive/liberal” do not. It is unfortunate that we find ourselves today in a situation where so many judges have demonstrated their willingness to walk all over the Constitution by legislating from the bench. Legislating is the job of the legislature (aka the Congress). But too many in Congress have been more willing to allow judges to legislate from the bench rather than doing their own work. Too much of this work has been dirty itself — like Roe v Wade and the decision to sanction same-sex marriage. President Trump is seeking to end this mess by appointing Constitutionalists as judges.
Thank you, Lord, for making a way for Trump to carry out Your Will. Once again the Red Sea is parted. Grant Trump and his administration the wisdom to nominate the best of the best in Your eyes. “For the LORD sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.”
(1 Samuel 16:7) Help elected officials who fear You to find other ways to support Your agenda in this administration. If it is Your Will, please let godly leaders and policies continue so that our country’s revival is well established.

Father, would you present to president Trump those judges and appointments whom you have chosen to fill positions across America. I pray that President Trump would be elected again to further the rescue and deliverance of America from those in our government and other countries who seek their own way and not Yours. Thank You, Lord God, for moving in the hearts and minds of our elected officials. Bless them with wisdom and peace.
