I Prayed have prayed
Heavenly Father, thank You for directing us about whom to pray for and how to pray for them. To You be the glory! Help Kevin McAleenan in his new position.

Have you ever wondered how we choose which elected officials to pray for in our Informer emails? The short answer is that we ask God. There are times when He has directed us to choose someone the day before something big in the news involves the person. This happened last weekend.

On Friday afternoon we chose the elected official. At first we wanted to feature the head of Border Patrol because of David Kubal’s trip to the southern border this week. But the information wasn’t readily available, so we chose the next higher authority, then Commissioner of US Customs and Border Patrol Kevin McAleenan. We had no idea that he would be elevated to acting Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security the next day. But God knew and He wanted you to be praying for McAleenan. So who is this man? Read the excerpts from the Daily Caller below to find out.

Also, please pray for David Kubal, IFA President/CEO, who is traveling to the southern border this week with a small group of Trump Administration officials (FEMA and HHS) and faith leaders. The officials and leaders will have an opportunity to tour immigration housing and join Border Patrol agents in drive-alongs on the border.

As you can imagine, we are hopeful that you, our faithful group of intercessors, will cover this effort in prayer. Specifically, please pray for:

  • For the Church along the border to be mobilized and encouraged in caring for and sharing the Gospel with waiting immigrants
  • For God to use this trip to develop relationships in order to fulfill His plan for the people at the border–the Border Patrol agents, the Church, and the immigrants
  • For the Gospel to be shared and received among all of those who are a part of this crisis
  • Safety
  • Please click “I Prayed” if you commit to pray for this important trip. We would love 1000 praying!

From the Daily Caller:

“Who is McAleenan and how will he likely manage the illegal migrant crisis?

The soon-to-be DHS secretary touts nearly two decades of experience working in immigration enforcement. . .

McAleenan was the port director for the Los Angeles International Airport and he served as the executive director of CBP’s antiterrorism office. He was appointed by former President Barack Obama as deputy commissioner of CBP in 2014, and he was awarded the Presidential Rank Award, the highest civil service prize, in 2015.

The former California lawyer impressed those leading Trump’s presidential transition team, with Trump promoting McAleenan to acting CBP commissioner in the onset of his administration in January 2017. The Senate confirmed him as the official CBP chief in March 2018 by an overwhelming 77-19 vote.

While he is well-liked by members of both parties and considered more of a technocrat rather than an ideologue, McAleenan also has been behind a number of Trump’s more hardline immigration policies.

McAleenan’s upcoming promotion means he will soon be managing not only CBP, but also Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Several people have been floated around as possible permanent picks for the DHS position, such as former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli and former Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach.”

Heavenly Father, thank you for leading IFA to choose Mr. McAleenan for special prayer. In your sovereignty, you knew the difficult task he would face as acting secretary of DHS. Direct his thoughts, words and actions to carry out Your perfect will regarding the extremely complex problems he will face. Help him to unite all those who work under him as a team, and to have Your wisdom for each decision. In Jesus mighty and Holy Name I pray.

Annoint him and download supernatural wisdom and discernment to know your plan to solve the border issues and favor with Congress to agree with his decisions. Protect and shield the border patrol while it is being addressed and fixed. We ask for creative ways for the church to activate and share the gospel to those who need you Jesus. Sovereign Lord, You raise leaders up to serve Your righteous plan. Thank You for raising up Kevin McAleenan for this time. I ask a mighty anointing upon David Kubal and the team of government and faith leaders traveling to the border this week. Give them discernment, wisdom and boldness to implement strategies to carry out Your plans and purposes.
May our country’s borders be fortified, may Your order prevail in the midst of the enemy’s chaos. I declare hope, unity of purpose, an awakening among unbelievers to see You as their Savior Jesus. May You open mouths of believers to boldly proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Lord I ask Your blessing upon them. Amen
