I Prayed have prayed

From Debbie Shick (Facebook post – reprinted by permission):

I picked up a stack of mail and a magazine on top caught my attention. It was the current NRA issue and its cover was captivating. It posed the question: “Is America Fraying?” Fraying…meaning “to decompose, to become tattered and torn…when the edge of a piece of material is completely broken down and the border is no longer intact.” If clothing is frayed, its best days are past. But, when I looked at the cover my spiritual eyes saw the words: “Is America Praying?”

Are we praying…really praying? Hear the wisdom of Jeremiah the prophet today and apply it to ourselves and our nation.

Jeremiah 33:3 – “Call to me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know (AKJV).”

Could it be that simple? That the God who created all things above and below the earth asks us to include Him in our daily equation? To call out to Him in prayer…to talk to Him…and allow…yes, allow Him to give us illumination and revelation on how to solve our problems. He wants to! He’s asking us to!

Jeremiah 32:17 – Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You (AKJV).”

There is no health care act, no homeland security issue, no international relationship, no civil discourse, no job insecurity, no financial dilemma, no family crisis…there is NOTHING that is too hard for God! The Church…the Ekklesia…set apart as the authority here on earth needs to hear again the wake-up call that we are abandoning our strongest tool if we do not use prayer to change our world. America will fray…if America does not pray!

We use 2 Chronicles 7:14 like a lucky charm to pull out in times of stress…in times of crisis…to pray in an election. But it is more. It is God’s directive by the Holy Spirit to quicken us…the Ekklesia…to our job description here on earth. “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will heal their land 2 Chronicles 2:14 (AKJV).”

The Word of the Lord today, Beloved, is to pray! The reward will be GREAT! AMERICA WILL NOT FRAY IF AMERICA PRAYS!

May we pray as you did Jesus, and as you taught us. First praising your name, so that our being is aligned with your glory, remembering that demons run before your praise. Then calling for your kingdom to come, not ours but yours ( i think American christians get confused here, me included) search me oh God so that your will will be done in me. Only after this come our supplications, with thanksgiving, so that Your peace Lord would rest on us. And then we pray for our enemies, forgiving them and loving them, remembering all we have been forgiven of by God. Asking that we would not be lead into temptation, understanding our weakness and our need of his daily mercies so that a humble spirit is maintained, “deliver us from the Evil One”, thanking Him for salvation and for the continued sanctification process. “For Thine is the Kingdom, and the glory, and the power for ever and ever”, help us to apply what you have taught us dear Jesus, in your name i pray, Amen

Amen. Lord help us to understand our job description, that of watcher on the wall and of prayer warrior. For too long your church has been worldly, keeping our God on the side lines of our lives. Lord it is the Churches failure that failed to keep prayer in the schools. It was the churches failure that cost 60 million unborn American’s to lose their lives, and their would be mothers to be caught in a trap of Satan. Help us to stop failing You Lord, which keeps your Kingdom from blessing our Land. Open up our eyes Lord, unstop our ears to hear your voice, may we trust in You with all our hearts, may we cease leaning on our own understanding, help us to akcnowledge you in everything we do, so that you are free to direct our paths and make them straight before us. Forgive us Lord, redeem us still, in Jesus name, Amen

There is no special gift of intercession in the congregation of Jesus, All Christians who know Jesus are call to pray and intercede for their country. I understand some may only be able to intercede an hour or two a day, but some will spend all day in supplication before God Almighty. 1 Tim 2:1-3
2:1 I exhort therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings, be made for all men;
2 for kings and all that are in high place; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and gravity.
3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; ASV

The only exception to praying for leaders, are those leaders who have committed the sin unto death: 1 John 5:16-17
16 If any man see his brother sinning a sin not unto death, he shall ask, and (God) will give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: not concerning this do I say that he should make request.
17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death. ASV

Thank you Teresa D.
Can you even imagine that if every single American prayed every single day for only 10 minutes…what this would do for our country?
Let us ADORE our Lord
CONFESS our sins and short comings
Give THANKS to the Trinity
Kneel in SUPPLICATION to the One True God.
Let’s agree to save our Country and world today.

Old quotation from a now forgotten devotional source:
“Your day won’t come unraveled if you hem it with prayer”
( Pray before you get out of bed in the morning, and before you go to sleep at night.)

Also, how many here know the ACTS genomic for types of prayer…
A adoration
C confession
T Thanksgiving
S supplication
