NATIONS MONDAY www.firstnationsmonday.com HOLDING UP THE PEOPLE IN PRAYER -- Welcome to the 9th month of unified prayer for First Nations peoples, Believers and ministries. First Nations Monday began with a prayer letter May 1, 2000 with the requests of 16 ministries. Since that time we have had requests of nearly 50 ministries. WOW. We are a 'young' ministry and I greatly appreciate your encouragement and patience as we have jumped in with both feet. As we have yielded to the Lord, we have seen great and mighty things happen in the Kingdom of God. We have also witnessed great growth and change in a relatively short period of time. The purpose of First Nations Monday began with a commitment to encourage Native Ministry leaders & prayer coordinators, independent intercessory groups, organizations & churches, and individuals to join together in prayer the first Monday of each month for Native Ministry. By praying for one another, and encouraging one another once a month, we have witnessed an increase of prayer support for each ministry, as well as an increase in Native Ministry awareness around the country. From that vision we have also seen a daily prayer network develop. Then the new year started with the compiling of our new ministry booklet and prayer guide, which encourages weekly prayer for First Nations ministry. So, what started as a monthly prayer ministry, now offers daily, weekly and monthly prayer for First Nations peoples, Believers and ministries. Thank you for partnering with me and First Nations Monday as we serve the Creator in ministering to "The People". Please take MONDAY, Feb. 5, 2001 to pray for the ministries
listed below. (For detailed prayer requests,

The following is retransmitted as a courtesy from Circle
of Prayer emmanuel@olp.net Dear Prayer Warriors, We thank you for praying for our Native American people throughout
the year 2000. There is so much prayer needed and we are now asking
that you join us in prayer for the following concerns regarding our Native
people. (1) Pray for the right person to become the Secretary of Interior, one who would be sympathetic to the Native American issues and concerns. [IFA Note: Gale Norton has been confirmed in this position.] (2) Pray that the Lord would show us our bridge people into the new administration, who our working relationships are suppose to be in the new government, and who would be sympathetic to us and the variety of concerns and issues we would bring in. (3) Pray for the National Day of Prayer in May, that our Native youth would be able to go and have a place to stay there in Washington. (4) Pray that our Native people be released into true worship, John 4:23-24, worshiping in truth and spirit. (5) Pray for Leon Matthews and God's other Native ministers in Pine Ridge, that they would be strengthened and stand strong for godly beliefs and principles, that their ministries would continue to develop. (6) Pray for Leonard Peltier, who is in prison in Leavenworth, that the door would open for Brother Jay and Pastor Negiel Bigpond to visit him, whomever the Lord wants to go in, that his life would be changed. (7) Pray for Two Rivers - for the right instructors to come and teach our students, that our students be trained and equipped for the work of the ministry. (8) Pray for the Cocopah Reservation near Yuma, AZ, that salvation and healing and deliverance break forth into that community, that the Native people would be taught the Word of God, that a church be established on the reservation there. (9) Pray for our meeting here at Morning Star Evangelistic Center with Brother Ed Silvoso on March 10th, for unity to be released, breaking down walls in Tulsa, pray that the Native Americans and Hispanics to be a part of the recognition; and pray for clarity of His Word to be released. He will be in Oklahoma City on March 8th and in Tulsa on March 9th. (10) Pray for protection and safe return for Brother Jay Swallow and Dr. John Benefiel and others on their trip to Israel. (11) Pray for Brother Leroy Hayes, who is reaching out to the Native Americans on reservations this summer, in particular Pine Ridge and Cocopah reservations. (12) Pray that forgiveness will come from the
military part of government for
massacres of Native American Indians. Again, we thank you for standing with us
in prayer. Let us hear from you. God bless you. Pastor Negiel Bigpond, Morning Star
Evangelistic Center, Circle of
